Before retiring, she was a meeting planner with American Cyanamid. She had been a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church in Allendale since 1969. She is survived by her children Cynthia Muller of Midland Park and Steven J. Anderson of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her siblings Suzette Mischler of Wyckoff, Keith Cauwenberghs and Richard Cauwenberghs, both of Allendale, and many nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the New York Stock Exchange for 40 years. He was a member of the Buttonwood Club of New York City, and the Friday men’s lunch group at Ramsey Country Club. He is survived by his children Bobbi Emra of Mahwah, Daniel Jr. of Burbank, California, Cathryn Pruiksma of Greer, South Carolina, Emily Kropp of Mahwah, Julie Hagan of Limerick, Pennsylvania, and Andrew of Waldwick, 15 grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren. Marie Dunn, nee Francis, of Ho-Ho-Kus, died Dec. 8. She was 80. She was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, where she taught CCD. She is survived by her husband Francis X. Dunn, her sisters Joan A. Kelly and Arlene F. Palazzolo, and her nieces Brenda M. Hinshaw, Joanmarie Shults, Erin Loparo, and Arlene J. Palazzolo. Marjorie C. Hague of Allendale, formerly of Ridgewood, Gail Anderson Daniel A. Blanchfield died Dec. 5. She was 90. She was a 1939 graduate of Ridgewood High School and attended Ridgewood Secretarial School, now Berkeley College. She was first employed by the Watson Flag Engineering Company of Paterson. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood, and involved with Boy Scout Troop 5, and the Ridgewood-Glen Rock Boy Scouts Camp Yaw Paw in Mahwah. Before retiring in 1985, she was an assistant to the reference librarian at the Ridgewood Library. An accomplished watercolor artist, her work was recently displayed at the Allendale Library. She is survived by her sons William of Hampton Bays, New York, John of Convent Station, and Eric of Warwick, New York, 11 grandchildren, her siblings Joan Knapp of Midland Park and George Gerritsen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and three nephews. He had worked as a mechanic, and was a service writer for the past 13 years most recently at Prestige Toyota. He is survived by his wife Janna (nee Hildebrandt) Morgan, his daughters Holly and Amanda, his mother Alice Morgan of Waldwick, his sister Christine Morgan of Wallkill, New York, and six nephews. Beulah Pfitzner of Arkansas, formerly of Waldwick, died Nov. 8. She was a graduate of Ramsey High School. She was a member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Batesville, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband Russell, her son Edward of Cave City, Arkansas, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and her brother Ralph Ten Eyck of Waldwick. She was predeceased by her parents Susan and Alexander Ten Eyck, her baby son Russell Jr., and her brothers Melvin, Alexander, and William. Colonel David Stokes Quackenbush of Allendale died Dec. 11. He was 87. He received a BFA and an MFA from Yale University. He attended the Army War College in Washington, D.C. in 1969. He was assigned as staff officer in headquarters, Chief of Staff, Air Intelligence at the Pentagon for 18 years. He developed a system for the com- puterized collection of intelligence data. He retired from the military in 1976 with 34 years of combined army and air force service. He earned five campaign stars in the ETO, the Air Force Accommodation Award, and an Honorary Citizenship of Communale d’Olne, Belgium. He was employed as publication coordinator and graphic designer in the medical research department at Lederle Laboratories, Division of American Cyanamid Company in Pearl River, New York. He was an eleventh generation descendant of Pieter Quackenbush, who came to New Netherland from Oestgeest, Holland in 1653, on the ship “Graft.” He was the son of the late Edwin Quackenbush and Anna Sewell Stokes. He was a life member of the Holland Society of New York, and a member of the Allendale Shade Tree Commission. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Whalen Quackenbush. Swanton of Upper Saddle River died Dec. 8. He was 75. Before retiring in 1987, he was a managing director for Merrill Lynch in New York City for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Kelly), his children Jennifer Ann Murray of Wyckoff, Kathleen Mary Dresner of Ellicott City, Maryland, Edward Terence Jr. of Upper Saddle River, Patricia Grace Snyder of Wyckoff, and Peter Timothy and Fralee of Tampa, Florida, nine grandchildren, and his sisters Patricia Wattai and Kathleen Rolfingsmier. At a board meeting following the storm, some parents asked that the board consider making up the days during the February vacation. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patricia Raupers explained at that time that taking the needed days from the spring break is already established by contract with the teachers’ union and by the school calendar.
