III • December 19, 2012 Club plans Bridge Marathon The Ho-Ho-Kus Woman’s Club invites bridge players to take part in the club’s Bridge Marathon. Games are held at the Ho-Ho-Kus train station on the second Monday of each month through May. The $25 entry fee supports the club’s many charities. Master plan information sought Local residents are being asked for their assistance with the history element of the Ho-Ho-Kus Master Plan, which is now being updated. Police offer announcements via Twitter The Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department is now featuring special announcements that will be available to the public via Twitter. The link to Twitter may be found on the department’s website, www.ho-ho-kuspolice.com. Messages will cover various non-emergency situations, such as road closings and delayed school openings. Emergency information and other situations that affect the community will still be disseminated via Reverse 911.

Council to meet once this month The Ho-Ho-Kus Council will hold a combination work session and public session on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held at Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall, 333 Warren Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. Adzieska exhibits at library Ita T.C. Adzieska is the Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library’s December artist of the month. Her exhibit includes 12 oil paintings in the impressionist style. Adzieska has been painting for over 20 years and has exhibited her artwork in the Balkans, London, New York, and New Jersey. Her work may be viewed at http://itanyc. wix.com/itatcartist. Police accept Reverse 911 updates Ho-Ho-Kus Police Chief John Wanamaker reminds residents who are not currently on the borough’s Reverse 911 list to call the police desk at (201) 652-1700 to have their contact information added. Anyone with a change of information or a new phone number is invited to call. The borough’s Reverse 911 system allows the municipality to relay important information to residents via telephone. While many residents’ home numbers are listed as part of the Reverse 911 system, citizens also have the option of registering their cell phone numbers so they may receive messages when they are away from home. Story time program expanded The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library, located at 91 Warren Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus, has added a 3:15 p.m. Thursday session to its children’s story time program. This new story time will be held in addition to the programs scheduled on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. The program is recommended for children ages three and up. A chemical reaction
The Ho-Ho-Kus Daisy Troop 5270 enjoyed an afternoon of science hosted by the Chemistry Club of Northern Highlands High School, led by Chemistry Teacher Elizabeth Zushma. The first grade girls participated in several experiments, including making lava lamps, rubber balls, and slime, and observed how different chemicals interact.
