Exhibit at college (continued from page 9) from 1 to 5 p.m. Collins discovers unacknowledged beauty through her large-scale photographs and projections of small fragments of surfaces. She finds inspiration in the effects of weather on her subjects. Her images can be read as aerial views of landscapes and weather systems before one realizes that they are, in fact the tiny cracks, crevices, and stains of concrete walls. Collins’ installation recalls the romantic idea of the sublime experience in nature. The exhibit will also include large-scale ink drawings by Anna Ritcher of Mahwah, photographic composites by Brittany Dillon of West Orange, paintings by Ilinka Vangelovska of Paterson, and photographs by Deshauna Dunn of Mine Hill. Ramapo College is located at 505 Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah. Police dispatchers (continued from page 7) The borough moved to 12-hour shifts for the police officers last Jan. 1 to comply with a state labor arbitrator’s decision. The schedule provides for four straight days of work in three 12-hour shifts per day, with one C.O. required to “float” for those C.O.’s who are on vacation. When not floating, the fifth C.O. will be working during peak hours of operation (1 p.m. to 1 a.m.) and will be available for special duty work, such as covering school posts, clerical duties, and various maintenance operations, according to Webber, thus further reducing overtime. All benefits are converted to hours, allowing for more flexible and practical use of vacation, holiday or personal time. There is no reduction in the number of working hours per year, but officers have off in the course of a year 18 full weekends and 12 partial weekends, instead of the current 14 full weekends and no partial weekends.
