Kitchen fire contained A small but very smoky kitchen fire at a house on Homewood Avenue in Allendale resulted in a massive turnout of fire personnel and apparatus. Fire fighters from Mahwah, Ramsey, Waldwick, and Wyckoff assisted their Allendale counterparts in containing the blaze and searching the home for possible smoke inhalation victims. A female from the home was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, and was subsequently transported to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for further examination and treatment. Also assisting at the scene was an EMS crew and ambulance from Waldwick. (Photo courtesy of Boyd A. Loving.)
