The group will gather at the clubhouse at 215 West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood. A classically trained soprano, Plumley has appeared in many operas throughout the United States and locally with the New York City Opera. She is a concert soloist, having sung at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall and with the symphony orchestras of Cleveland, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Seattle, Toronto, and Ottawa. Plumley is a versatile singing actress and greatly enjoys musical theater. A business meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Lunch catered by the Market Basket will be served at noon, and the program will follow at 12:45 p.m. The cost to attend is $20 per person. Auditions for ‘Godspell’ announced Auditions for the spring 2013 musical production “Godspell” at Don Bosco Prep will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the school’s De Sales Hall auditorium. Call backs are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Girls from all area high schools are invited to audition. There will be 40 to 50 roles available. “Godspell” is the story of Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of Matthew, and focuses on Christ’s humility and compassion for others. “Godspell” first played on Broadway in 1971. The show was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak with music by Stephen Schwartz, who also composed the music for “Wicked” and “Pippin.” The dates of the Don Bosco Prep musical production are set for March 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24. Memorial Holiday Card Contest announced Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling of Ramsey is sponsoring a Memorial Holiday Card Contest. Participating children are invited to make a card in memory of a loved one by folding a standard piece of paper in half and coloring only the folded half. Magic markers work best. Entries may be horizontal or vertical, and must include the child’s The Friends of the Hermitage will host a Champagne & Candlelight evening on Friday, Dec. 14 to usher in the holiday season and celebrate the Friends’ 40 years of stewardship of The Hermitage Museum. The evening, held from 6 to 9 p.m., will begin with a champagne reception inside the home at 335 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. Following the reception, guests will enjoy light fare and seasonal music in the museum’s education building. This year’s Christmas Tea theme was chosen by the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club for the period-inspired holiday decorations. This is the sixth year the club has decorated The Hermitage for the holidays. “Each room of The Hermitage is decorated with its own distinctive tea party setup, complete with its own distinctive tea service with all of the fixings,” said Mimi Duffy, the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club member in charge of this year’s decorating project. Featured are a formal tea party in the dining room, a child’s tea party in the children’s bedroom, and special baking displays in the kitchen. The decorated home evokes a sense of holidays past, using traditional materials and designs. Many of the dried flowers used in these displays are from club members’ gardens. name, age, and the name of the person for whom the card was made. Entries are due by Dec. 14. Chamber to host pair of events The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a free Morning Meet & Greet networking event on Wednesday, Dec. 5. This event is being sponsored by TD Bank and will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Atrium Building located at 535 East Crescent Avenue in Ramsey. Participants can enjoy this free opportunity to network with other businesses and learn what is new about the Chamber. All in attendance will be able to introduce themselves and their businesses. Chamber members are also invited to bring their promotional material and literature to display on the event’s information table. There is no cost for Chamber members or non-members.
