The scholarship was awarded based on Cericola’s academic achievements and her desire to continue her education in the field of business or finance. Cericola, a resident of Waldwick, graduated with a 4.3 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also historian and captain of the cheerleading squad. She will attend Seton Hall University this fall. “It is a sincere pleasure to support the ongoing education of students in our community and help ease the burden of the high Sergeant Thomas Dowling arrested a 17-year-old Midland Park juvenile on July 5 and charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. The arrest came after officers investigated the slashing of the tires of a local business manager’s vehicle after the juvenile was asked to leave the establishment. The juvenile will appear in Bergen County Superior Court in response to the charges. A Grove Street resident reported on July 16 that he returned home from work and discovered that his home had been burglarized. The actor or actors “shouldered” open the front door and targeted the master bedroom where a large quantity of jewelry was taken. The incident is currently being investigated. Police Department Report Officer Jodi Zuzeck arrested a 45-yearold Montgomery, New York resident on July 20 and charged him with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and speeding. The defendant was released pending a Waldwick Municipal Court appearance. On July 23, Officer Adam Garcia arrested an 18-year-old Ridgewood resident and charged him with underage purchase and possession of alcohol. Officer Garcia observed the defendant purchasing alcohol at a local business which resulted in his arrest. Two residents reported that their vehicles had been entered while parked in the Waldwick Municipal Pool parking lot on July 25. Both victims had credit/debit cards (continued on page 15)
