Club celebrates 95th Anniversary Aid pact approved
by Jennifer Crusco A mutual aid agreement between the boroughs of HoHo-Kus and nearby Hillsdale was approved at the most recent Ho-Ho-Kus Council meeting. The agreement will allow the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department to automatically assist Hillsdale in fire emergencies. Ho-Ho-Kus Councilman Steve Shell, the borough’s assistant fire commissioner, raised the issue with his peers. He pointed out that the prior mutual aid agreement with Hillsdale had expired. The urgency of the updated agreement is related to United Water’s dam rehabilitation project at the Woodcliff Lake Reservoir. In addition to the work on the dam, the project also calls for Church Road, an east-west corridor in Hillsdale, to be lowered and widened. That road will be closed for approximately two years, an action that will effectively cut Hillsdale in half. (continued on page 8)
