She received a BA in sociology from the University of Redlands in 1950, and a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in 1965. She was a pioneer in planning, developing, constructing, and managing affordable housing for families in New Jersey during the 1960s through 1980s. She developed innovative, home-style housing for senior citizens between 1970 and 1995, and owned and operated several group homes for seniors in Ridgewood and Ho-Ho-Kus. She was a member of the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club. She is survived by her husband Richard Andersen, her children Cheri, Scott, Lori, Jill, and Paul, 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and her sister Ruth Bryant. A celebration of her life will be held at her home in Ho-Ho-Kus at noon on June 16. Virginia N. Aversa, nee Davison of Saddle River, formerly of Toms River and Cliffside Park, died April 15. She was 76. Before retiring in 1985, she was a waitress at Peluso’s in Cliffside Park for 30 years. She is survived by her children Joann Sestanovich, Joseph Careri, William Careri, and Gina Napolitano, 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her former spouse Joseph Careri. Bosnich, nee Schiebahn, of Upper Saddle River, formerly of Virginia Beach and Hasbrouck Heights, died April 16. She was 86. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hasbrouck Heights VFW Post 4591, a member of the Moose Club in Virginia Beach, and a member and past president of the Rosary Society at Corpus Christi Church in Hasbrouck Heights. She was a volunteer at the Christian’s Women’s Club in Virginia Beach and a parishioner of Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She is survived by her husband John L. Bosnich, her children Janice Rankin of Arizona, Valerie C. Wild of Upper Saddle River, and Elizabeth McElhaney of Illinois, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her sister Elizabeth Mitchel. Arrangements were made by G. She was 90. She was a secretary for United Feature Syndicate in New York and at The Bendix Corporation in Teteboro during WWII. She was a volunteer with various organizations including Meals-on-Wheels, Kurth Cottage at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, and at the Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Cynthia Jane Barbara Joy Andersen Young, John Peter Letz, Judy Harris Kusmer, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, and her sister Susan Broderick. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was an employee and elected officer of Union Pacific Corporation for 47 years, serving as corporate secretary and president of the Union Pacific Foundation. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glen Rock, and served as a member of the church’s council. He was a volunteer with the Valley Hospital Foundation, and received the “Heart of Valley” award in 2006 for his service. He is survived by two sons, Christopher of New York and Scott of Ridgewood, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Helen. Arrangements were made by C.C. She was a member of the Leisure Club in Ramsey, the Ramsey Seniors, and Healthy Bones. She is survived by her two children, and three grandchildren. She attended school in Boston and became a licensed hair stylist. She learned to fly, training out of East Boston Airport (now Logan Airport). She was a supporter of the American Legion Post 57. She is survived by her children David Roszkowski and Christine Himmelhoch, and her grandson Mark Himmelhoch. She was predeceased by her husband Mieczyslaw “Mike” Roszkowski.
