WEF sets Garage Sale The Waldwick Education Foundation will hold its TownWide Garage Sale on April 28 and 29. For a $25 fee, participants will have their addresses included on the sale map and will receive a lawn marker. There will also be a special contest to win a gas grill. Association plans Golf Outing The Waldwick Baseball/Softball Association will host its Second Annual WBSA Golf Outing fundraiser on Wednesday, May 16 at the Black Bear Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds will benefit two scholarships that will awarded to graduating members of the high school’s baseball and softball teams in recognition of their achievements in sports and academics. Register for fall soccer Registration for the 2012 Waldwick Soccer Association’s fall recreational soccer program is under way. The deadline to register is May 15. The association welcomes Waldwick residents from incoming kindergarteners through high school students. Players in grades five and above participate in a travel program affiliated with the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association. Children in kindergarten through grade four are part of the in-town league. Practices begin in August and the season runs from September through November.

Used cell phones, cartridges sought The 2012 Waldwick High School Graduation Ball Committee is seeking donations of used cell phones and empty laser and ink jet printer cartridges. The fundraiser will help support this year’s alcohol-free and drug-free celebration for graduating high school seniors. Drop off locations include: the Waldwick Stop ‘N Shop, 19 Wyckoff Avenue; the Waldwick Municipal Building, 63 Franklin Turnpike; and the Waldwick Police Department, 15 East Prospect Street.

Same-day registration will be from 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. at the field. The course has been officially certified and sanctioned by the USATF, giving the event recognition as an official running course in New Jersey. Race results will be available on www.Bestrace.com. Entry fees for the run and the Fun Walk are $25 per person (if received by April 27); $30 thereafter (children 10 and under may participate free of charge). Group discounts for five entries or more received by April 27 will be $22 per person; $27 after that date or on day of race. Parents host Pasta Dinner & Cabaret Night The Waldwick Music Parents Association will host its Ninth Annual Pasta Dinner & Cabaret Night fundraiser from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27 in the Waldwick High School cafeteria, 155 Wyckoff Avenue. Student musical groups will perform during the dinner, including the Waldwick High School and Middle School Jazz Band. The event includes an all-you-can-eat dinner, beverages, and desserts. Advance tickets will be available until April 24, and cost $10 for adults, an $8 for seniors and students. Children under age five will be admitted free. At the door, tickets will be $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Ticket orders may be left in the WMPA box in the high school/middle school office, or mailed to WMPA, 11 Dow
