Lynn Barsamian has resigned from the Allendale K-8 Board of Education, citing the needs of her immediate and extended family. “I did not want to leave -- I did not -- but it was a question of too much to do and not enough time,” Barsamian said last week. The trustee would have completed her first three-year term if the Allendale Board of Education had conducted a traditional election in April, however the board voted earlier this year to move its school election to November. ment she made to the people of Allendale when she sought office and, while she had enjoyed her service on the board, the needs of both her children and her parents had placed too much stress on her time schedule to allow her to maintain the kind of hours she needed to fulfill her commitment to the schools. Her resignation became effective April 17, the date on which the school boards that did not opt to pursue the November election option held their elections. A 1984 graduate of Boston College, Barsamian is a graduate of Fordham Law School. She is a practicing attorney. J. KOSTER Correction The April 18 article regarding the Allendale PTO’s donation to the sixth grade class trip incorrectly stated the amount of the group’s contribution. The PTO will be contributing $2,000 to the field trip.
