Scholarships offered The Knights of Columbus organization based at Church of the Presentation is now offering three $2,000 scholarships to the children and grandchildren of registered parishioners. Two college scholarships will be available to graduating high school seniors who plan to begin a four-year accredited college in the fall of 2012. One high school scholarship is available for students who are completing eighth grade and plan to attend a Catholic high school this fall. Although financial need is a major consideration, strong weight will also be given to grades, school activities, and community service. Applicants will be required to submit a short essay on one aspect of their community service along with an application form. Applications are available in the parish office and online

Prostate cancer support group to meet LifeLines, a supportive and informative resource for prostate cancer patients and their partners in Northern Bergen County, will meet Tuesday, April 24 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River. The group was formed by prostate cancer patients to share information and experience about available treatment and service resources. Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month. Rotary plans Dinner & Wine Tasting The Allendale-Saddle River Rotary Club has planned its second annual Dinner & Wine Tasting for Monday, April
30 at 7 p.m. The event will be held at Savini Restaurant, 168 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. The evening will include a five-course gourmet dinner and wines by Maratene’s of Waldwick. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rotary Club’s scholarship fund for local students. March for Babies Walk set The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club will participate in the March for Babies walk on Sunday, April 29 at Darlington Park in Mahwah. The women are walking to raise money for the March of Dimes whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births, and infant mortality.
