AFEE accepts grant proposals The Allendale Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc. invites parents, teachers, local business people, students, staff, and all other members of the community to submit proposals for projects or programs to enhance and broaden the educational experience of students attending Hillside and Brookside schools. The scholarship is open to Northern Highlands Regional High School seniors who have demonstrated exceptional talent in DECA and other marketing groups or organizations and intend to study of business or marketing at an institution of higher education. Applications, which are due by May 8, must be submitted as complete packets marked “Attention Scholarship Program”

Volunteers sought The volunteer nursing home outreach program, Growing Relationships and Making Memories, is seeking volunteers to form relationships with socially isolated nursing home residents. Many nursing home residents have no one to visit them. Similar to a Big Brother/ Big Sister philosophy, GRAMM builds individual relationships through activities such as sharing stories, playing games, reading, watching sports/television, sitting outside, writing letters, or just offering companionship. GRAMM is seeking volunteers who can visit one hour a week for eight weeks. The program is held at the Allendale Nursing Home in Allendale.
