April 4, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 17 Ho-Ho-Kus Jottings Club to hear budget presentation Ho-Ho-Kus Superintendent Deborah Ferrara will present the 2012-13 school budget at the April 4 meeting of the Contemporary Club of Ho-Ho-Kus. The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be held at the Hermitage, 335 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. The meeting will include committee sign ups. New and prospective members are welcome. Auxiliary offers scholarships The Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will offer two $750 scholarships for 2012. Applications are available at the Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall, the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, the Ho-Ho-Kus Public Library, and Northern Highlands High School. Applications may also be accessed via the Ladies Auxiliary link on the hohokusfire.org website. Completed applications should be sent to the Ho-HoKus Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 637, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Applications must be postmarked by May 1. Finalists will be notified by mid-May to arrange an interview. Recipients will be notified by June 15. Garver-Gaydos exhibits photographs The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library’s April Artist of the Month, Jeanmarie Garver-Gaydos, is now exhibiting her new photo series at the library. This exhibit was inspired by the artist’s recent performance in Tennessee Williams’ “The Rose Tattoo.” The library is located at 91 Warren Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. Church sets seder Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Ho-Ho-Kus will host its annual Seder Supper on April 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The menu includes roasted leg of lamb, bulgur wheat, and vegetables. Desserts, wines and non-alcoholic bever- ages will also be served. There will be a Passover program following Judeo-Christian traditions. Guests of all faiths are welcome. A donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child is suggested. Seniors host varied events On April 11, the Ho-Ho-Kus Seniors will travel to Ehrhardt’s Waterfront in Hawley, Pennsylvania, for its Tribute to Grand Ole Opry. The event includes the show and lunch. Nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist Jimmy Margulies will share stories of his favorite cartoons on Tuesday, April 24. Space historian Joe Lenox will present “One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Mankind” on May 22. The Ho-Ho-Kus Seniors group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in the Hermitage Education Building at 335 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus. Students may apply for Schwartz Scholarship All June 2012 high school graduates who attended eighth grade at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School and are residents of Ho-Ho-Kus are invited to apply for the Jerry M. Schwartz Memorial Scholarship. This fund was established by the Schwartz family upon the death of Jerry Schwartz, who was a student at the Ho-Ho-Kus School. The family chose to honor Jerry by offering a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to an individual student. In order to be eligible, a student must be accepted to a two- or four-year college. The applicant must be a HoHo-Kus graduate who exhibits evidence of being a caring, ethical individual, and received a passing grade in his or her high school program. Applications for the Jerry M. The application requires a statement from the student explaining a life experience that had a positive impact and resulted in personal growth and positive change. Documentation of actual college expenses and a letter of recommendation are also required. Completed applications will be confidential and will be reviewed by the Ho-HoKus superintendent and a member of the Schwartz family. Woman’s Club offers scholarship The Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus is accepting scholarship applications from graduating seniors who attended the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. Awards will be made based on scholarship, leadership, and community service. Applications will be accepted until May 1. Randall (continued from page 12) Randall is a sought-after speaker, who has delivered various addresses, served as a program panelist and moderator for multiple organizations, and participated in several conferences and webinars. Her articles have appeared in professional publications. Randall’s topics have included professional ethics and the retention of closed clients’ files, approaches to reduce the risk of malpractice, how to handle instances in which attorneys are subpoenaed, conflicts of interest, and, most recently, “Fair Debt Collection Practice Act Minefield,” which was published by USLAW in the fall of 2011. In addition to her most recent honor, Randall has been named one of the Top 50 Female Super Lawyers in New Jersey. The New Jersey Law Journal named Randall a Prominent Woman Among Women and Minority Attorneys in New Jersey. The honoree was selected for membership in NJ300, a cross-industry networking organization comprised of the state’s top female executives. The honoree’s husband, Thomas Randall, Esq., is the mayor of Ho-Ho-Kus.
