Last week, the Waldwick Council introduced an ordinance that would, if approved as written, allow Midland Park residents to pay the rates now charged to Waldwick residents for the use of the Waldwick Municipal Pool. In addition, the ordinance would reduce the price of memberships for children who do not reside in Waldwick or Midland Park. Currently, the non-resident rate is $150 for adults and children. Waldwick is planning to open its pool registration to Waldwick residents and Midland Park beginning May 1, 2012. The pool is due to open June 23. Under the proposed ordinance, Waldwick and Midland Park residents who purchase badges between May 1 and June 22 would pay the following pre-season fees:
The Allendale/Waldwick PBA Local #217 has rescheduled its Easter Egg Hunt to Saturday, April 7. The event will be held at 10 a.m. at the Waldwick High School Turf Football Field at 155 Wyckoff Avenue in Waldwick. Children from Allendale and Waldwick will be grouped by age into the following categories: toddler through kindergarten, students in grades one through three, and students in grades four and five. Plans call for an additional $10 fee to be charged for each badge purchased after June 22. First-time registrants must appear in person at the Waldwick Borough Clerk’s office at 63 Franklin Turnpike, beginning May 1, to have an ID picture taken. Waldwick cannot sell any pool badges until after the ordinance is adopted by the council. At this time, the borough is not prepared to print new badges or to update existing badges.
