September 26, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES I, II & IV • Page 13 The Waldwick Lions Club is planning an afternoon clock full of activities this Sunday, Sept 30 (rain date -Sunday, Oct. 7) from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Borough Park. Waldwick Lions Ducky Derby/Fun Family Day will feature a DJ, rides and games for children, a clown, karate and remote control car demonstrations and reasonablypriced food, among other attractions. Servpro of N.W. Bergen will sponsor a pie eating contest at 1:30 p.m., and the Waldwick High School Concert Band will perform at 2:30 p.m. More than 35 vendors have already committed to set up tables at the event, including Karen Skoglund of Karen’s Kreations, the tie-dye lady from Waldwick, who will be Family Fun Day, Ducky Derby coming Sunday there with her famous tie-dye booth. Attendees should bring their own t-shirt for free tie-dye, or purchase one there. The fun will center around the Lions’ traditional Ducky Derby, set to swim off at 4 p.m. in the adjoining brook. Participants pay $5 per duck (6 for $25), and the top 10 winners receive prizes. More than 400 ducks have already been presold, according to Jim Zumbano of Plaza Jewelers, who still has plenty more to sell, or they may be purchased at the event.. All proceeds go to support Lions Club charitable causes. The Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps will dedicate its new ambulance at 1 p.m., and the newly-refurbished Children at last year’s Family Fun Day.
