Sunday school classes offered The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Sunday School has begun. Children in pre-K through third grade attend children’s choir practice from 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. From 10 a.m. to 10:25 a.m., they attend Sunday school. Children must be three years old by Oct. 1 to attend. ESL and computer classes available The Glen Rock Public Library’s ESL (English as a Second Language) conversation groups will meet every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 3. Registration is not required, but participants should have basic English speaking ability. The library has planned a fall lineup of technology classes. Classes meet from 7 to 8 p.m., and registration may be completed by calling the library at (201) 670-3970. The following classes will be offered: Oct. 10, Internet and PC Basics; Oct. 24, Microsoft Word; Nov. 14, Excel; Nov. 28, PowerPoint; and Dec. 12, eReaders. Seniors plan events The Saint Catharine Association of Mature Parishioners will meet Sept. 20 in the church’s community hall at 905 Maple Avenue in Glen Rock. The group will gather at 2 p.m. The fall schedule of events will include an Italian Festival at the Royal Manor in Garfield on Oct. 11, a day of recollection on Nov. 1, and the annual Christmas Party on Dec. 20. Free yoga classes offered The Glen Rock Public Library, located at 315 Rock Road, will offer free yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 18. James Collins, a certified yoga instructor, will lead “Vinyasa Flow” yoga classes from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Beginners are welcome. Yoga helps relieve stress, strengthen the body’s core, improve balance, and more. Participants should wear comfortable loose clothing, and bring a mat, towel, and water bottle. Knitters meet at library Knitters have been congregating ght at the Glen Rock Library. People just whip out their projects, (crochet too) and attract other people to discuss projects, yarn and yarn sources. Formal instruction and help with projects with experienced knitters are held every Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 2 p.m. Take advantage of the company, experience, be stimulated to try a new project. Beginners are welcome.
