Mixed media art show set Throughout the month of September, the Stable Art Gallery will host a special exhibit, “PC Consumer Art Show,” a showcase of the talents of the consumers of the Partial Care Program at West Bergen Mental Healthcare. As part of the PC Arts and & Community Center Events, the healthcare facility offers a variety of creative groups in their program, as the Partial Care team supports consumers on their road to wellness and recovery. Annual Fall Festival set The Village Department of Parks and Recreation will host its Annual Ridgewood Fall Festival Street Fair on Sunday, Sept. 23, from noon to 5 p.m. The event is free and will be held rain or shine. The section of East Ridgewood Avenue between Maple Avenue and Oak Street will be transformed into an outdoor market with tables of arts and crafts, jewelry, holiday ornaments, and more. Live entertainment will be provided along with a food court with a variety of snacks. Special events are planned for the children. There will be something for everyone. Irish Unity Conference to meet The Irish American Unity Conference, 5th and 9th Chapter, will meet Sept. 12 at Christ Church, 105 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. The IAUC is a human rights organization, working for peace with justice in a reunited Ireland. Fall lawn renovation seminar offered R&S Landscaping will offer a free lawn renovation seminar at Backyard Living in Ridgewood on Wednesday, Sept. 12. This free 90-minute workshop will explore the best practices for revitalizing a lawn after the stress of the summer drought and heat. The workshop is designed for homeowners who like to spend time in their yards; specifically those who want to use natural practices to improve the health and appearance of their properties. Rocky Bilyeu, maintenance division manager at R&S, will discuss the contrast between traditional methods and exploring the popular use of safe, allnatural soil rejuvenation through applications of compost and compost tea. OLMC MOMs group to meet The Ridgewood Our Lady of Mount Carmel MOMs group will meet Sept. 12 at 9:15 a.m. in the parish center located at 1 Passaic Street in Ridgewood. In addition to monthly meetings, the group also hosts discussions, a book club, recipe club, tennis, playgroups, yoga, faith sharing, and more. HILT plans events Highlights in Leisure Time ’s On Sept. 20, the group will travel to the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, a National Historic Landmark in Parsippany. Attendees will tour the 1911 home of Gustav Stickley, one of the patriarchs of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Stickley is known for his popular furniture designs, sometimes called “Mission Style.” This museum has been voted one of the best heritage sites to visit in New Jersey. Please note that this trip includes walking and stair climbing. Lunch will follow at the nearby Tabor Road Tavern. The cost is $48 for HILT members and $53 for non-members.

Ridgewood residents who are 55 and older are invited to join Highlights in Leisure Time, a senior organization under the auspices of the Ridgewood Department of Parks & Recreation. Monthly meetings include entertainment and informational presentations followed by refreshments, and a variety of monthly trips. Annual membership dues are $15. Bereavement support group forming The parishes of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ridgewood, Saint Gabriel in Saddle River, and Saint Catharine in Glen Rock are jointly sponsoring a Bereavement Support Group. The group will meet on Thursdays beginning Sept. 13 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, One Passaic Street in Ridgewood. The meeting will offer support for those at the beginning stages of the grief process. The group stresses confidentiality and mutual support. The program is open to all. Biddy Basketball players wanted Ridgewood Biddy Basketball registration is now open and may be completed online at www.ridgesports.org. This program is available to girls and boys in grade three through high school. A clinic for special needs children is also being offered. The registration deadline is Sept. 20. Library offers audiobooks The Ridgewood Public Library is offering Listen NJ NW, a downloadable audiobooks project of the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative. This project will allow iPod and Mac users to download audiobooks from a program called OverDrive.
