Arthur Berger of Ramsey died Aug. 25. He was 83. Arrangements were made by Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn. Erik Justin Bergman of Mahwah, formerly of Ridgewood, died Aug. 18. He was 34. He graduated from Mahwah High School in 1997. He attended Bergen Community College, Montclair State University, Wayne State Law School in Detroit, Michigan, and Jersey City State University where he graduated with a R.N. degree and a B.S.N. He was a state-certified EMT. He worked as an emergency room nurse at Lincoln Hospital in Bronx, New York. He is survived by his parents Lennart and Rosemary Bergman, and his sister Allyson C. Bergman, all of Mahwah. Nicola D’Alessandro of Saddle River died Aug. 26. He was 84. He immigrated to the United States as a young man, and was a successful, self-made entrepreneur. He is survived by his children Nick D’Alessandro, Frank D’Alessandro, and Linda Atkinson, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Consiglia D’Alessandro. Glock of Mahwah died Aug. 28. He was 71. Before retiring after 45 years of service, he was a vice president at the Bank of New York Mellon. He is survived by his wife Jo-Ann (nee Barnao), and his son David Glock, both of Mahwah, and his siblings Carol Kingston and Robert and Richard Glock. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Noela J. Karl of Ridgewood died Aug. 27. She was 73. She enjoyed a long, successful career in the office furniture industry. More recently, she joined the real estate industry. She is survived by her husband Robert of Ridgewood, her children David of North Conway, New Hampshire and Kirsten D’Abate of Medfield, Massachusetts, two grandchildren, and her brother Jack McElliott. He was a member and supporter of several community, civic, and professional organizations, including the New Jersey Bar Association; the Garfield Boys and Girls Club, where he served on the board of directors and as president; and the Wyckoff Lions Club. He is survived by his wife Catherine, his son Marc of California, twin granddaughters, and his siblings Arthur of Ho-Ho-Kus and Judy of Vernon. A life celebration will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Avenue in Garfield. Oliver Parker Jr. of Tuxedo Park, New York died Aug. 24. He was 74. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve. Born and raised in Upper Saddle River, he attended the Little Green Schoolhouse and graduated from Ramsey High School and Dickinson College. He was a carpenter and home builder, and he built many homes in northwest Bergen County. He was a director of Mahwah Savings and Loan, and an incorporator of Independence Bank. He was a Village of Tuxedo Park Trustee and Tuxedo Club member. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (nee Collins); his sons Richard, Douglas, and David Parker; his stepchildren Jeannie Dwyer, Nancy O’Neill, and Maureen Amico; 13 grandchildren; and his sisters Suzanne, Judith, and Cornelia Parker. Robb of Glen Rock died Aug. 29. She was 73. She held four master’s degrees, including a master’s in education from Yeshiva University in New York City, 1960; an M.A. from Jersey City University, 1975; an M.S. in economics from the University of Illinois, 1986; and an M.S. in psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, 1990. Before retiring, she was a teacher at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City. She also taught at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood. She was supervisor of social studies for the Irvington School District, was supervisor of curriculum for the Red Bank School District, and worked for eight years as a senior trust officer at Wachovia Bank in Paramus. She is survived by her husband Ernest W. Robb, and her children William H. Robb, John E. Robb, and Arthur S. Robb. She is also survived by and four grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn. Anna Patricia Roenish, nee Soroka, of Glen Rock died Aug. 27. She was 94. Before retiring, she was a secretary at Glen Rock High School for many years. She was the first librarian in the Coleman Elementary School in Glen Rock. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glen Rock, a member of the Fair
Lawn Seniors, and a former member of the Paramus Seniors. She was a member of the Day Care Social Club at the Atrium in Allendale. She is survived by her daughter Patricia June Salmon, and her sisters Helen Joan Chencharick and Olga Judith Pitera. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from City College of New York and her master’s degree in psychology from City University of New York. She was chief psychologist and clinical director at Hackensack Medical Center from 1968 to 1976. She later opened her own private practice in Saddle Brook as a licensed psychologist. She is survived by her nieces Louise, Cathy, and Julie, and nephew Jack, and many long-time friends. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She had taught at Ridgewood High School. She survived by her children Jennifer Nyland, Stephanie Kirker, and Britton D. Smith, six grandchildren, her ex-husband Douglas Smith, and her brother Michael Tanaka. She was predeceased by her daughter Theresa Smith. Giuseppe Tarulli of Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Valdez, Colorado, Brooklyn, New York, Irvington, New York, and Wyckoff, died Aug. 24. He was 85. Born in Cansano, Italy, he was a steam engine driver in Italy, a coal miner at Fredrick Mine in Valdez, Colorado, a worker for L.A. Piccirillo Inc. in Newark, and a custodian in Brookside School in Allendale. He is survived by his wife Vilma Tarulli, his children Ersilia Vogt, Anna Maria Kralik, and Rocco Tarulli, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
