Page 16 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • October 31, 2012 Obituaries Norma Lessor Archibald of Ridgewood died Oct. 25. She was 94. She was a U.S. Women’s Army Corps veteran of WWII. She was a 1939 graduate of the University of Vermont, where she majored in French, Latin, and Greek. She was awarded a scholarship to the Sorbonne University in Paris, but she was unable to travel to France due to the outbreak of World War II in Europe. She taught in secondary schools in Vermont and Upper New York State from 1939 to 1942. She earned a master’s degree in French literature at Columbia University. She served as a teacher of French, Spanish, and Latin in the Ridgewood schools for 15 years, followed by 15 years in the River Dell schools. During her last few years in River Dell, she served in the guidance department. She retired in 1976. She is survived by her husband John Lauren Archibald, and stepson John L. Archibald, Jr., of Fort Pierce, Florida, one step-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Harold A. Lessor and Grace Conkey Lessor, and her sisters Mary Lessor Early and Ruth Lessor Ivey. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh, Inc. in Ridgewood. Colucci of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Ridgewood, died Oct. 22. She was 86. She graduated from George Washington High School and attended New York City School of Dietary Science. Before retiring, she was employed by Hawthorne Public School System for 20 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Ann Colucci, Christine Moore, John Colucci, and Albert Joseph Colucci, four grandchildren, and her sister Gloria Fanelli. She was predeceased by her husband Albert. Hallahan of Ridgewood died Oct. 23. He was 85. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Paterson State College and joined the Ridgewood Fire Department in 1950, retiring in 1980. He was a member of FMBA Local 47 and New Jersey State Local 500. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood, where he served many years as an usher. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Stack) of Ridgewood, his children Edward F. Hallahan of Leesburg, Virginia, Mary T. Mayer of Romansville, Pennsylvania, and Nancy E. He was a 1965 graduate of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle. He attended Cornell University and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated from Bloomfield College. Before retiring in 2007, he was a manufacturer’s representative at Baldor Electric Co. He was a member of the Irish folk group, The Bantry Boys. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth R.C. Church in Wyckoff, and a member of Saint Paul’s in Roselle. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Graney, his mother Wilma Nelson, his siblings Dale Nelson and Joyce Oehler, and nieces and nephews. He was a Ridgewood Baseball Association Little League coach for seven years, and a member of American Legion Post 53 in Ridgewood. Richardson, nee Hansen, of Glen Rock, died Oct. 23. She was 87. A homemaker, she had worked at Wright Aeronautical during World War II. She is survived by her children Peter L. Richardson and Ann M. Richardson, both of Glen Rock, and one grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Richardson, and her siblings Soren Hansen and Margaret Burke. She is survived by her daughter Judy of Belmar, her son John and daughter-in-law Laura of Mahwah, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Rokoszak. After retiring he was a crossing guard for the Midland Park Police Department for 10 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 7086 in Midland Park. He was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park for 64 years. He is survived by his children Rhonda Salge and Philip A. She was 87. She had a long and successful career with Frontier Communications, and was active in her community and church. Mary Margaret Fallace Springer of Ridgewood and Barnegat Light, died Oct. 22. She was 60. She attended Saint Rose of Lima School in Washington Heights, New York and Ridgewood High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in special education from Indiana State University, and taught in the Park Ridge and River Dell Regional school districts. She is survived by her husband Ken Springer, her sons Michael Patrick Springer, Kenneth Henry Springer, William George Springer, and Thomas Stephen Springer, three grandchildren, her mother Brenda Fallace, her sisters Ann Petrides, Elizabeth Fallace, Katherine Pizzo, Virginia Muzzillo, Christine Kay, and 21 nieces and nephews. He is survived by his son Mike and daughter-in-law Pat of Mahwah, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Louisa (nee Pascucci).
