Grad Ball parents to meet Parents of Glen Rock High School seniors are invited to the Oct. 25 Grad Ball 2013 meeting. The session will be held at 8 p.m. in rooms B150/151 in the senior hallway of Glen Rock High. The Art and Design Committee will present “the box,” and there will be a discussion about the Beefsteak Dinner, auction, and fundraiser. Ticket deposit money is due at this time. Club hosts Gottlieb Newspaper editor Martin Gottlieb will address the Activities Club on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The Activities Club is a group of retired and semi-retired men who are involved in social, athletic, educational, scientific, and volunteer activities. Seniors plan meeting, events The Saint Catharine Association of Mature Parishioners will meet on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the church’s community hall at 905 Maple Avenue in Glen Rock. Friends to sponsor multiple programs The Friends of the Glen Rock Library will host authors Richard Muti and Charles Buckley will discuss their true crime story “The Charmer” on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Former prosecutors, Muti and Buckley will discuss their account of Robert Reldan, rapist, murderer, and millionaire. The authors will be available to sign copies of their book afterward. A new member of the teaching staff at Glen Rock High School has been awarded both a scholarship and grant from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Educational Foundation. Oren Levi, who joined the science department as a firstyear physics teacher, has received a $5,000 AFCEA STEM Teacher Scholarship, along with a Teaching Tools grant for each of the next three years that he continues teaching a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) subject. ESL and computer classes available The Glen Rock Public Library’s ESL (English as a Second Language) conversation groups will meet every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Registration is not required, but participants should have basic English speaking ability.
