Each of the bank’s 13 branches displays a small Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and gifts tags for the collection. Bank customers and associates are encouraged to take a tag and an ornament from the tree and return with a new, unwrapped gift suitable for a child from newborn to age 16. The gift collection will continue through Thursday, Dec. 14. The gifts are presented to local charitable organizations such as New City Kids, Westwood Cares, CUMAC, Harvest Outreach Ministries, and New Hope Ministries and will be distributed to needy and inner city children. Atlantic Stewardship Bank, a subsidiary of Stewardship Financial Corporation, maintains branches in Hawthorne, Midland Park, Montville, North Haledon, Pequannock, Ridgewood, Waldwick, Wayne, Westwood and Wyckoff. Toys for Tots sought American Legion Post 57, in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps, is collecting new unwrapped toys for tots to teenagers. Toys may be dropped off at the American Legion Post 57, 46 Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick, every evening after 5 p.m. or Sundays after 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 20. Children’s Heart Foundation benefit rescheduled Allendale residents Chasity Glazer and Angela Yessis’ fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Heart Foundation has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 28. Some of the proceeds from this event will now be donated to a local family who is rebuilding after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. The event’s honoree is one of Allendale’s newest resident, baby Victoria, who was born July 2 with a congenital heart defect. She underwent life-saving open-heart surgery when she was three days old. The fundraiser will be held at Il Villaggio, 651 Route 17 North in Carlstadt at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 each and include admission, food, and a cocktail or glass of wine. Between the hours of 5 and Five Corners Theatre Company will presents ‘Footloose!’ to benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief. Donations of shoes, boots, socks, cleaning supplies, and other necessities will be gratefully accepted at each performance. In addition, a portion of all ticket sales will go to assist hurricane victims. Performances will be held Nov. 29 at 8 p.m., Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Community Church of Glen Rock, 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock. Tickets are $15; $12 for students and seniors. John Fell House to open for holiday event The Friends of the John Fell House will host the third annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9, from noon to 4 p.m. The historic John Fell House, located at 475 Franklin Turnpike in Allendale, has been adorned for the holidays by area interior decorators. Visitors will enjoy glowing Christmas trees, decorated mantels, and a cozy story area. Activities will include a Holiday Storytime on Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. Carolers will be performing at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
