The group will meets at the Glen Rock Municipal Annex Building at 678 Maple Avenue at 7:45 p.m. A Flemington resident, Muzychko has been successfully growing and selling fig trees and figs since 2001. His slide show will demonstrate his unique growing method for fig trees, which usually grow in subtropical climates. The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call (201) 447-6099. Christmas Concert & Carol Sing-along announced The Ondrick Chorale welcomes local residents to a Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 2. The program will be held at 4 p.m. at Saint Catharine Church, 905 South Maple Avenue in Glen Rock. The Ondrick Chorale, directed by Matthew J. Moran and accompanied by James T. Moran, will perform a selection of classical and modern pieces, and several Albert S. Burt carols and jazz arrangements performed by smaller quartets. In addition, the audience will be invited to join in singing traditional Christmas carols, accompanied by brass and organ. A $10 donation is suggested. This event will include a performance of “Home for the Holidays” by the Jersey Dreamers and Christmas songs with the Chessmen. The cost, which includes the show, lunch, and transportation, is $37 for members, and $40 for non-members. School hosts Open House The Academy of Our Lady will hold an Open House for its pre-K and kindergarten programs on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. The school will be registering students for 2013-14 classes. Pre-K classes with enrichment options will be available for children ages two through four. Kindergarten options include half-day or full-day sessions. The academic program will include math, reading, religion, computers, library, music, art, physical education, and Spanish. Author to discuss new book Glen Rock resident and author John Koster will discuss his new book, “Operation Snow: How a Soviet Mole in FDR’s White House Triggered Pearl Harbor,” on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Glen Rock Public Library. The book tells the story of how a trusted U.S. Treasury Department official, a graduate of Stanford and Harvard, was actually a Soviet agent of influence who used his knowledge of Japanese economics to foist a war on the United States.
