He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1939, and from Hamilton College in 1943. He was an advertising executive for NBC and later became executive vice president at Young & Rubicam and Compton advertising agencies. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Sarasota. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Easton Adams, his sons Peter, Robb, and Douglas, son-in-law Timothy Bondy, 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Winston Rudyard Broadbent of Ridgewood and Port Clyde, Maine, died May 10. He was 83. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a graduate of Harvard University. He had been employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance, Seaboard Surety Company, and Buchardt Realty. He was a member of the Harvard Club of New York. He assisted in interviewing and recruiting students for Harvard, and was a member of the New Haven Railroad Historical Society and the Island Institute of Maine. He served as an usher at West Side Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Hobbyist Club of Ridgewood. He was a member of the American Legion, the Ridgewood Hobbyist Club, and served as an usher at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glen Rock.
