Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • May 16, 2012 Glen Rock Summer is nearly here. That means it’s time for camping under the stars at the Glen Rock Jaycees’ Family Fun Night at Saint Catharine’s Field. This year’s event will be held Friday, June 1, beginning at 5 p.m. and will wrap up on Saturday, June 2 at 9 a.m. (Rain date: June 8.) Tickets are $35 per family and are now available at Glen Rock Hardware and Kilroy’s. Camping is optional. This full night of festivities will include a barbecue, field games, free ices sponsored by Rita’s, and a bonfire. A family movie will be shown on a giant screen under the stars. Popcorn and cotton candy will be available during the movie. A hearty breakfast, including bagels, coffee, and doughnuts, will also be provided. Event organizer Craig Giummarra said, “The Jaycees’ Family Fun Night is a great way for parents to spend quality time with their kids. The event also offers a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other and it’s right on our doorsteps!” Family camping is a great way to help build and strengthen the relationship between parents and kids. Memories and shared experiences help build understanding between a child and parent, and can last a lifetime. “This is a safe and fun way for parents to introduce camping to even the youngest of children. We understand some people may be unable to stay the night; hence camping is optional. Don’t forget your mitts, basketballs, lax sticks, scooters, and Frisbees,” Giummarra added.
