Participants will experience an afternoon of card-playing, games, socializing, door prizes, and the luncheon. Clubs and bridge groups are welcome to reserve tables. All proceeds will benefit the Valley Hospital’s programs. Men and women from the surrounding community are invited to attend. Tickets are $15, and the deadline for reservations is March 19. To purchase tickets, call (201) 444-1285. Spring Theater Festival coming up The Glen Rock High School Theater Company will showcase its Spring Theater Festival at 7:30 p.m. on March 15, 16, and 17. The festival features original plays written, produced, and performed by students. All performances will be held in the Glen Rock High School all-purpose room located behind the middle school gym. Tickets may be purchased at the Glen Rock High School Hamilton Lobby on Tuesday, March 13 between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the door. Irish music concert features Ciaran Sheehan Irish tenor Ciaran Sheehan and singer Kimilee Bryant will perform a concert of Irish music on Friday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1 Passaic Street in Ridgewood. The concert, which is being jointly sponsored with The Academy of Our Lady in Glen Rock, will include Sheehan’s friends Gabriel Donohue, Heather Martin-Bixler, and the Strings of Tara, as they perform a mixture of timeless Irish classics and moving inspirational favorites. Sheehan, an accomplished singer and celebrated Broadway star, has performed in “Les Miserables,” in the role of Raoul and as The Phantom in “Phantom of the Opera.” He has sold out Carnegie Hall. Bryant has performed the role of Christine in “The Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway and in Switzerland and Toronto. Passover Wine Tasting set The Eighth Annual Passover Wine Tasting and Sale will be held at the Glen Rock Jewish Center on March 17 at 8:15 p.m. The event will feature a world class selection of kosher wines in all price ranges. Smullen to discuss wildflowers and weeds Dorothy Smullen will discuss wildflowers and weeds at the March 20 meeting of the Glen Rock Garden Club. Smullen’s slide show will be presented at the Glen Rock Municipal Annex, located at 678 Maple Avenue in Glen Rock, at 7:45 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and refreshments will be served. Lenten services announced Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue in Glen Rock, will hold its mid-week Lenten Services each Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. in the sanctuary. Dates will include March 14, 21, and 28. Members of the community are welcome. Lent is a time of reflection and penitence in preparation for the celebration of Easter. This year’s theme is “Hymns of Lent.” Holy Communion is offered at each service. Ladies Night Out set The Academy of Our Lady will host a Ladies Night Out on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. The fundraiser will be held in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Center, 1 Passaic Street in Ridgewood. The event will include a buffet dinner, dessert, a prize basket fundraiser, and an auction. Proceeds will benefit the Monsignor Holmes Tuition Assistance Program, the school’s needs-based scholarship fund. Academy of Our Lady is supported by the parishes of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ridgewood and Saint Catharine Church in Glen Rock. Tickets are $40.
