This fundraiser will feature five up-and-coming comedians, including Frank Gallo, Johnny Hollywood, “Mad Dog” Mike Jenkins, JoAnna Ross, Jessica Sager, and emcee Rich Carucci. The show will take place at Redd’s Restaurant, located north of the Meadowlands Sports Complex at 317 Washington Avenue in Carlstadt. Advance tickets are available for $25 online at www. hackensackriverkeeper.org or by calling (201) 968-0808. Tickets will be $30 the day of the show. In addition to topical comedy, the event will also feature food specials and a Craft Beer Tasting featuring brews from New Jersey, New York and Vermont. All proceeds from ticket sales go to support the ongoing work of Hackensack Riverkeeper to protect, preserve, and restore the Hackensack River and its watershed. Note: Attendees should expect adult language and subject matter at Comedy Night performances. The show is not recommended for children or those offended by adult content. TPS to present ‘Grease’ Tuxedo Park School will perform “Grease: The School Version” on March 7 and 8 at 6 p.m. Tickets are free, but seating is limited. The public is encouraged to arrive early. Wyckoff Y seeks scholarship applicants The Wyckoff Family YMCA invites area high school seniors who have been “goodwill ambassadors” during their high school careers to apply for Y’s Dr. Roger E. Clarke Scholarship. Students should be able to demonstrate they were instrumental in creating harmony and promoting the inclusion of others. These goals could have been achieved through charitable outreach, bringing individuals or organizations together for the common good, or in other ways that demonstrate ambassadorship. A one or two-page typed essay about the student’s accomplishments and two letters of recommendation must be submitted by April 4. In addition to the essay and recommendations, each applicant must submit his or her name, address, phone number, and e-mail address to: Wyckoff Family YMCA, Attention: Kristine Pepper, 91 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff NJ 07481. The $1,000 scholarship will be presented at the Friends of the Y Dinner on April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyckoff Family YMCA. The winner will attend the dinner along with his or her parents or guardians as guests of the Y. Families of YMCA board and staff members are not eligible for this award. March Mexican Madness benefit set Wyckoff’s Blue Moon and 3 Chicas restaurants have teamed up to raise funds for the Wyckoff YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. Visit 3 Chicas Mexican Kitchen at 637 Wyckoff Avenue on March 12 and 13, and Blue Moon, located in the Boulder Run Shopping Center, on March 21 and 22 for the best Mexican food Wyckoff has to offer while supporting the Strong Kids Campaign. Proprietors Lee Parker and Howard Felixbrod will donate 20 percent of their proceeds to the campaign. The Y’s Strong Kids Campaign supports children and families in need of services provided by the YMCA. End-of-Winter Tree Walk slated The New Jersey Botanical Garden will sponsor an Endof-Winter Tree Walk at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden on Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. Head Landscape Designer Rich Flynn will show participants how to identify trees by structure, branching, and budding patterns before the leaves once again appear. The group will meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center at 10 a.m., and are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. In the event of snow or heavy rain, the walk will be canceled. The walk is open to the public free of charge, but a $5 donation would be welcome. The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands, which appears on both the state and national registers of historic places, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the year. Admission to the botanical garden is always free. In the spring, parking is also free. NJBG/Skylands is located on Morris Road in Ringwood.
