Summer Toddler Time announced Registration is now open for the summer session of Toddler Time (formerly known as Mommy and Me) at the Glen Rock Jewish Center. This program is open to children 12 to 24 months who are accompanied by a parent or babysitter. The class will meet for six weeks on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. beginning June 27. Each week, there will be a mix of arts and crafts, music, songs, stories, finger plays, indoor and outdoor play, and weekly discussions on topics of special interest to the parents and care givers. Merri Kapiloff, a professionally trained and experienced child life specialist, will be the facilitator. Classes, which are filled on a first come, first served basis, are limited to 10 child and adult pairs. For more information, call (201) 652-6624. The center is located at 682 Harristown Road. Municipal pool open The Glen Rock Swimming Pool complex is open for the summer. The facility will remain open through Labor Day weekend. Glen Rock residents may purchase season badges in a number of categories. Family membership cards, which include all family members except for non-related care-givers, will be $380. The rate for a care-giver is $175. Badges for children six to 11 years old are $70, and youngsters 12 to 17 are $80. The cost for senior citizens is $25. Non-resident guest fees are $10 for an adult, and $5 for a senior citizen 62 or over and for young people 17 or under. Memberships may be purchased at borough hall, 1 Harding Plaza, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Parade planners seek volunteers The Glen Rock Fourth of July Parade Committee is seeking volunteers to sell fundraiser tickets, canvass for float entries, and assist in the search for bands and judges. Parade floats sought The Glen Rock Parade Committee has announced the July 4 Parade Float Contest will be judged in the following categories: Best Float, Best Decorated Wagon, Most Spirited Parade Route Party, Most Spirited Entry, Most Patriotic Entry, and Best Dressed Pet. Residents should have received a parade brochure and contest tickets in the mail. The contest is the sole fundraiser for the parade. Prizes include a Weber gas grill from Glen Rock Hardware, Kilroy’s gift cards, a painting by Glen Rock resident Marcia Rieff, autographed sports items, a gift certificate from Mail & More, and Ikea gift cards. Club seeks bridge players, plans party The Activities Club bridge group is seeking new players. The bridge group meets on Tuesdays, except during the third week when the general membership meets. All skill levels from beginner to expert are represented. Sessions meet every other Monday at 7:30 p.m. and are designed for teens to express their reactions to an eclectic selection of works. Each month will feature one graphic novel and one text novel. This opportunity to explore some of the most revered teen titles is supported by the Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library. Sign-up sheets and copies of the books are located at the reference desk. Expanded WiFi, scanning services available Glen Rock Public Library patrons may now enjoy expanded WiFi service at the library and free scanning capability. The library now has an improved WiFi signal, which should eliminate “dead zones.” The service signal now reaches to all four corners of the library’s main floor. The library recently installed a digital scanner. Patrons may now scan documents free of charge to one of the library’s public iMacs, then edit, save, e-mail, print, or share the digital copies. Printed copies are 10 cents per page for black and white, and 25 cents per page for color. Visit the library at 315 Rock Road, Glen Rock. Exhibitors sought The Glen Rock Library is looking for interesting, antique, artistic, whimsical, beautiful, and/or unique collections. The exhibits, which change monthly, are kept in the library’s three display cases. Placards identify the exhibitors.
