Edwards, nee Charles, of Fair Lawn, formerly of Glen Rock and Ridgewood, died June 16. She was 91. She was a parishioner and choir member of Saint Catharine’s R.C. Church in Glen Rock, and a baby nurse at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Esther Nelson, Anne Marie Daniel, and Leasa Sampson, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her siblings Winston Charles and Veronica Charles. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Edwards, her son Burt Edwards, her daughter Frances Edwards, and her granddaughter Caitlin. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Glenn Stuart Hinnes of Ridgewood died May 31. He was 62. He attended Monmouth College. He was an electronics technician, specializing in sound systems, and was most recently employed by Bogen Communications of Ramsey. He is survived by his brother Dr. Robert L. Hinnes and sister-in-law Sheila of Pepper Pike, Ohio and Manasquan; and his nephew Christopher J. Hinnes and wife Sue Ann, great-niece Jessica Hinnes, and great-nephew Jacob, all of Golden, Colorado. He was predeceased by his parents Virginia (nee Lucas) and Harold Hinnes. Arrangements were made by Olthuis Funeral Home in Midland Park. John G. Kantakis of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Maywood and Hawthorne, died June 18. He was 53. He attended Saddle River Day School, Johnson and Wales University, and Pace University. He was president of Associated Cut Flowers in Manhattan, New York. He was a member of the New York Athletic Club. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. He was recently honored by the Interfaith Center of New York as an Urban Angel for his benevolence. He is survived by his wife Kyra (nee Simmonds) Kantakis, his children Teresa Kantakis of Manhattan, New York and John-David Kantakis of Franklin Lakes, his father George Kantakis of Manhattan, and his siblings Carol Kantakis Maas of Hawthorn and George Kantakis of Hackensack. made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Patricia Herlong Koontz of Midland Park, formerly of Ridgewood, and Baltimore and Ocean Pines, Maryland, died June 15. She was 87. During World War II, she worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Jacksonville, Florida. After the war, she worked for the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Research and Development Board in Washington, D.C. In Ridgewood, she worked for a group of physicians at Prospect Medical Group. She is survived by her husband J. Philip Koontz, her children John P., Kathryn M. Quinn, Claudia K. Thayne, Marylou K. Fulford, Thomas M., Joseph A., J. Andrew, and Robert E., 21 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son David B., and her nine brothers and sisters. Mary Ellen McDonald of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Clinton, Massachusetts, died June 15. She was 56. She was a graduate of Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and was a teacher at Darnell Cookman Middle/High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by her mother Marie (Connelly) McDonald of Upper Saddle River, her siblings Martha Mahoney of Upper Saddle River and Peter McDonald of Egg Harbor Township, and her nieces and nephews Michael Scerra of Tacoma, Washington, Angela Hawk of Palmer, Massachusetts, and Owen and Kathleen Mahoney of Upper Saddle River. She was predeceased by her father Francis C. McDonald, her sister Kathleen Scerra, and her brotherin-law Christopher Mahoney. He is survived by his mother Ann Misiewicz, his siblings Richard, Larry, Jeffrey, and Susan, his nephews Charlie and Jonathan, and his niece Brittany. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Elizabeth S. Onderdonk, nee Schilling, of Chestnut Ridge, New York, formerly of Upper Saddle River and River Edge, died June 19. She was 77. She attended Dwight Morrow High School and Wheelock College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied early childhood education. During summers she worked as a flight attendant, transporting European refugees and American soldiers. She is survived by her children John and Paul, both of Wyckoff, Amy Onderdonk of Hoboken, Beth Ellis of Mendham, and Chris of West Chester, Pennsylvania, 11 grandchildren, and her sister Ruth Hennessy of New Vernon. Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY 10977. William Ernest Pelley of Ridgewood, formerly of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Evansville, Indiana, died June 7. He was 91. Before retiring, he was a senior vice president of the Bankers Trust Company in charge of its energy group. His banking career spanned 33 years. His career began in 1945 as a field geologist with the Sinclair Oil and Gas Company. He had attended Mount Herman Prep School in Northfield, Massachusetts, and the University of Michigan where he earned his degree in geology. He is survived by his children Jennifer P. Jaremko of Warwick, New York and Mark W. Pelley of Trumbull, Connecticut, five granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Lorene M. Stein, and his second wife E. Jean Antes. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. He is survived by his life-partner Mac Byrd of Ho-Ho-Kus, his sons Michael James Spadaccini and Evan Dashiell Spadaccini, his former wife Polly Davis of Norwood and Waldwick, his parents John and Normae McClear Spadaccini of Norwood and Lakewood, and his siblings Angelo John Spadaccini of Houston, Texas, Normae Marie Silva of Highland Mills, New York, and Frank Edwin Spadaccini of Norwood. She was a member of Mountainside Bible Chapel in Schroon Lake. She is survived by her husband Clarence, her children Paul Zabriskie of Stuart, Florida, Sharon Van Alstine of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, and Lisabeth VanderWiele of Schroon Lake, nine grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren, and her sister Helene Abbink of Bainbridge, New York. She was predeceased by her brothers David and Jacob Meester, her sister Jewell Luebke, and her nephew Everett Meester. Arrangements were made by Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home in Schroon Lake.
