Ballet concert presented Candidate shifts affiliation; November contest assured The Glen Rock political primary confirmed the two Republican candidates -after a last minute shift of affiliations -- and the one Democrat -- who have filed for the November general election. Two three-year council seats will be available this year. Carmine Nogara, an incumbent and the top voter-getting from both parties, received 325 votes as a Republican candidate, while former Democrat Joan Orseck, a multi-term incumbent and now a Republican candidate, received 319 votes. Orseck said she had been an Independent who filed as a Democrat, but has now changed her affiliation and will run as a Republican in November. Orseck generally votes with the five Republicans on the council, and the governing body tends to be harmonious and committed to taxpayer savings without loss of important services. Howard Fox, who ran a lively but unsuccessful campaign as a Democrat last year, received 281 votes in the primary, and will contest one of the two seats now held by Republicans. There were no contests at the County Committee level in Glen Rock this year. Nogara, a financial expert, has long been active with emergency services. He will be seeking election to a second term. Orseck, a registered nurse and teacher of nursing, has been especially active with senior citizens. She is seeking her third term on the council. Fox is an expert in electronic communications and operates multiple businesses. J. KOSTER Christine Yarish, Mira Fish, Grace Tang, Murphy. and Mia
