In honor of this milestone event, the boards of the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat and the Christian Health Care Center have named the Mountain Avenue driveway that both organizations share as “Theresa Bushman Dr.” Bushman was a key founder of ECCR and has been a strong supporter of its mission to serve individuals with developmental disabilities throughout its history. She also served for many years as CHCC’s director of nursing. While this driveway, now Theresa Bushman Drive, remains a private roadway with no change in current or future use, the naming allows for a timely and fitting honor to a leader who has had a tremendous impact on both organizations. The Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat is a nonprofit organization providing residential programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The ECCR has facilities in Wyckoff, Hawthorne, North Haledon, and Midland Park.
