The Glen Rock Borough Council honored the trophy winners from the Glen Rock Friends of the Library’s Annual AllStar Readathon with medals for the top readers in each category, and the children came forward to be recognized by individual council members and to have their photographs taken with Mayor John van Keuren. “The Readathon has a sustained life,” said Friends Readathon Chairperson Jennifer Ebeling. “The children look forward to it every year, and participate eagerly. I’m very proud of all the parents who encourage their children to read.” The Friends group reported that 495 students in Glen Rock’s elementary schools took part in the event this year. The Clara E. Coleman School, with 74 percent of all students at the school enrolled in some aspect of the program, won the award for greatest percentage of participants for the fifth year in a row. Thomas Corazzo, a kindergarten student at Bethlehem Early Learning Center, won the award for most money raised when he and his family signed up $420 worth of pledges. His younger sister Gianna won an award for Top Reading Buddy.
