Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • June 6, 2012 Ridgewood Updated assignments, salaries gain approval by John Koster The Ridgewood Board of Education recently approved assignment changes for the coming school year that added hours for some teachers and reduced on-the-books overtime for others. Four teachers who were on overtime were assigned to a full teaching day with no extra hours, with a commensurate reduction of salary. The updated assignments reflect the district’s need for these teachers’ services. Paul Cronk, art teacher at Ridgewood High School, was reduced from 1.1 time to 1 time and his pay will drop from $86,133 to $78,330. Cronk is at Class 4, Step 9 of the salary guide. Ernestina Gagliano, a home economics teacher at Ridgewood High, was reduced from 1.2 time to 1 time, with a drop in salary from $72,334 to $65,785. She is at Class 3, Step 5. Ridgewood High physical education teacher Susan Kameno was reduced from a 1.2 time assignment to straight time as a 1 time teacher, with a salary drop from $126,216 to $105,230. She is at Class 4, Step 16 of the salary guide. Danielle Wood was reduced from 1.2 time as a social studies teacher in special education to straight time, with a salary drop from $86,808 to $72,390. She is at Class 3, Step 8 of the salary guide. Amanda McCullough, a math teacher at Ridgewood High School, was dropped from full-time to 0.8 time, with a reduction from $84,230 to $67,384. She is at Class 2, Step 11. Christine Anderson, a mathematics teacher at Ridgewood High School, was increased from 0.6 time to 0.8, with a salary increase from $34,518 to $41,512. She is at Class 2, Step 1. John Luckenbill, a music teacher at Ridgewood High, was increased from 0.8 time to 0.9, with a salary increase from $40,712 to $45,802. He is at Class 4, Step 9. Sean Kase, social studies teacher at Ridgewood High, was increased from 1 time to 1.1 time and his salary increased from $53,890 to $59,279. He is at Class 1, Step 4 of the salary guide. David Stahl was increased from a 0.4 time physical education teacher at Ridgewood High to 0.6 time. His salary increased from $40,712 to $50,890. He is at Class 1, Step 1 of the salary guide. Michael Wilson was increased from a 0.8 time special education teacher at Ridgewood High School to a full-time special education teacher, and his salary was increased from $40,712 to $51,890. He is at Class 1, Step 1. Amy Nolan was increased from 0.6 time as an English as a Second Language teacher to 0.8 time, and her salary was increased from $34,326 to $45,768. She is at Class 2E, (continued on page 14) The Willard School Home and School Association recently donated $50,000 to install air conditioning in the auditorium of this Ridgewood school. The donation was one of several accepted at a recent Ridgewood Board of Education meeting. The Korean Parent Association gave the board of education $2,000 for the Ridgewood High School guidance department to defray the expenses of conferences and travel costs for college visits. The Ridgewood High School Class of 2013 and the Ridgewood High School Class of 2015 each donated $1,032 to cover the costs of chaperones at a school dance. Paul Cronk, an art teacher at Ridgewood High School Donations include $50K for air conditioning and the designated principal of Ridgewood High School’s summer school program, received an $1,000 AP Honorarium for expenses to attend the AP Annual Conference. In other business, the board of education voted to hire several new administration workers and a leave-ofabsence replacement teacher for the school system. Howard Shannon was hired as a temporary leave of replacement third grade teacher for the Somerville School for the next full school year at a salary of $50,890. He holds a New Jersey Department of Education Certificate of Eligibility with advanced standing as a K-5 teacher. Jeanine Murray was hired as assistant business administrator for purchasing at a salary of $65,000 for the next full school year. Cheryl Amaker was hired as a confidential secretary to the assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the next full school year at a salary of $55,000. Maeve Cunningham was hired as an administrative assistant at the education center through the next full school year at a salary of $34,970. Eileen Gallagher was hired as the business accounts payable secretary effective Aug. 16, 2012 through June 30, 2013 at a salary of $40,084. J. KOSTER
