The tally of individual members for midJuly of 2012 was 4,963, up from 4,902 as of mid-July of 2011. This number includes all swimmers who signed up without regard to whether they joined as individuals or as family group members. No breakdown by category was available, only the comprehensive enrollment figures. New pool members are still invited to sign up for the remainder of the season, which will continue until Sept. 19. The rates now in effect for season memberships are free for children who do not yet walk; $40 for children old enough to walk, but five years old or under; $70 for children from six to 11; $80 for youngsters 12 to 17; and $110 for adults 18 to 61 years old. Senior citizens receive a reduced rate of $25. The camp for family membership, not including a care giver, is $380 for all family members. Care givers can receive a membership for $175. Lap swimming rates for residents at 6 a.m. are $50 for swimmers 18 to 61, and $20 for seniors 62 years and older. Non-residents may take part in lap swimming in the early morning hours for $325 for the reason, or obtain a 10-trip lap swimming book of coupons for $100. The per diem rate for all ages for non-residents is $10 a day. Non-resident seniors and children from five to 17 may obtain a daily guest pass for $50. Some of the pool’s most enthusiastic fans, the middle school students and sponsors from Onomachi, Japan, will be arriving later this week and will be spending several days at the pool. The students and their chaperones pay for their own trips to Glen Rock with the help of their own municipal government. Many Glen Rock residents offer the visitors shelter in their homes and share in the fun of the annual visit. Glen Rock Television recently launched its new website: glenrocktv.com. The site features quick links to recent programming. The Fourth of July parade link is available now, and a link for the 2012 Studio Stars video will be available soon. This community resource televises government, education, and current event programs. The not-for-profit entity is run solely Glen Rock TV has new website by volunteers from the community. Those who wish to become involved with GRTV may express their interest via the website. Volunteers are needed to tape council meetings and to assist with marketing, production, programming, and public relations. Glen Rock Television is aired on Cablevision Channel 77 and FiOS Channel 32.
