Dolores Bennett, nee Brigliadoro, of Glen Rock died Jan. 1. She was 98. She was a member of the American Red Cross – Hackensack Branch and the Valley Hospital Auxiliary Glen Rock Branch, where she served as president for eight years. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 145, where she served as president for 16 years. She was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of Saint Anthony’s Church in Hawthorne. She was predeceased by her husband Edward. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Joan F. Cronin, nee Flynn, of Ridgewood, died Dec. 25. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood, where she was a member of the parish council, Rosary Altar Society, the Father English Food Ministry, and the Stewardship Committee. She is survived by her children Kerry, Neil, and Kristin Cronin, three grandchildren, and her sister Elizabeth Slabacheski. She was predeceased by her husband Jay Cronin, and her son John. She was 95. Before retiring, she was a secretary for Amica Insurance Company in Glen Rock. She was a former member of the Saint Catharine’s choir and The AMPS. She is survived by her children Marjorie Darby of Canton, Michigan, Carolynne Healey of Glen Rock, and Richard Earl of Lake Wales, Florida, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Ruth Aileen Neske, nee Jennings, of Ramsey, formerly of Ridgewood, Kansas, and Florida, died Dec. 26. She was 87. She had been employed by the Borough of Ramsey for 20 years, working in the tax department, police department, and accounts payable. She had worked for Gibling’s Footwear, Ramsey Outdoor Store, and the Ramsey Pharmacy while her children were young. She was a member and served as a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey where she belonged to the Coeur group and the Bible Study group. ough Alumni Group, and a member of the XYZ Club of Allendale. She volunteered with the Head Start Program of Passaic County in the 1980s. She is survived by her children William F. Neske III of Downsville, New York, Sue Johnson of Ringwood, Jeanne Pennypacker of Glenville, New York, and Terri Cook of Ramsey, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her companion Joe Dunsheath of Allendale, and her brother Lee of Philipsburg, Kansas. She was predeceased by her husband William F. Neske Jr., her son Roy Alan Neske, and 10 siblings. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He played the saxophone in the Army Air Corps Band. He was a police officer with the Glen Rock Police Department from 1952-78. He also served with the Palisades Interstate Police Department. He was a parishioner of Saint Catharine’s R.C. Church in Glen Rock. He was a member of the Waldwick Lions Club and the Glen Rock PBA. He is survived by his wife Violet M. (nee: Zaffino) Pace, his children Denise Jaffe, and Regina Trucil, both of Hawthorne, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Leo Pace. Mary Shaw Schlivek, formerly of Ridgewood, died Jan. 1. She was 96. She was married to Louis B. (Bud) Schlivek. She is survived by her children Katherine Diamond of Watertown, Massachusetts, and Laura Schlivek of Montpelier, Vermont, and her grandchildren. Frank G. Tomiello of Allendale, formerly of Waldwick died Dec. 30. He was 64. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Prior to working as a maintenance supervisor with Wagner Tours Bus Company, he owned and operated Sunlight Transportation, Inc. He was a real estate agent with Weichert Realtors in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Rosanne, his children Frank, Robert, Richard, and Melissa, three grandchildren, and his sister Gail Steinmetz. He was one of the original coaches of the Waldwick Soccer Association (N.B.S.L) and an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 232. He is survived by his children John (Jack), Anne, Edward Jr., Mary Catherine Jasper, and Eileen, three grandchildren, and his siblings Gerald Valentine and Cathie McHugh. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Rhattigan), his daughter Catherine Elizabeth, his grandson Patrick, his parents John and Annie Valentine, and siblings Nancy Butler, Daisy Valentine, Jack Valentine, and Leo Valentine.
