Area January 11, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 11 Board pays $21,378 to contractors in change orders by John Koster The Ridgewood Board of Education approved a total of $21,378 in change order payments to contractors for work on Ridgewood High School. The board approved payment of a change order of $13,753 to Drill Construction Company of West Orange for concrete repair and other miscellaneous repairs at Ridgewood High School. The masonry work and concrete disposal came to $8,155. Storm and sanitary sewer lines added another $6,148 to the total, but $550 was deducted for expenses the district incurred to make repairs to lawn sprinkler damage by the contractor. The second increment was awarded to Arco Construction Group of Elizabeth in the amount of $7,625 for required interior plumbing connections that were discovered during demolition. The board also approved change orders that totaled $3,200 for renovations at the Hawes Elementary School. Plans call for the Bennett Company of Passaic to install a CISCO data switch, an upgrade over the switch originally specified. Mayor Keith Killion and the Ridgewood Village Council have appointed the members of the Ridgewood Environmental Advisory Committee for 2012. Michelle Lenhard is the Ridgewood Board of Education representative, Frank Moritz is the village representative, Maribeth Lane is the Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Board representative, and Dianne Kidwell and George Wolfson are Committee members named citizen members for terms that expire at the end of 2014. Edward Schwartz is an alternate for a term that will expire in 2013. Tess Giulani and Thomas Stachelrodt have been appointed as Class A members of the Historic Preservation Commission through 2015. Vincent Parillo has been appointed as a Class B member. J. KOSTER The Society Café Concert Series of the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood is offering a new series of acoustic singer, songwriter, folk, and Americana concerts to the community beginning Friday, Jan. 20 with a program featuring the music of the Kennedys. Dessert will be offered at 7 p.m. and the Concert series to feature the Kennedys music will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be reserved by visiting www.societycafeconcertseries.com.
