Aleana’s Bridal at 46 East Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood recently had a high school band play in the store. Several people stopped by to enjoy the music.
The Ridgewood Police Department is investigating some petty thefts and has nabbed a shoplifter for stealing cigars. The shoplifting suspect, a 42-year-old Allendale man, was confronted by the owner of the Tobacco Shop on Chestnut Street on Nov. 27 after he was reportedly observed stealing cigars. The owner and an employee followed the accused thief to the train station where he was located hiding between two parked cars when police arrested him and charged him with shoplifting. He was released pending an appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court. On Nov. 30, a Katherine Road resident reported that the home had been entered and the residents discovered that wallets containing cash and electronics were missing. No signs of forced entry were discovered. The Ridgewood Detective Bureau is investigating. On Dec. 1, a Melrose Place resident reported that her vehicle had been entered during the night and a GPS and iPhone charger had been stolen. The Ridgewood Detective Bureau is investigating. J.
