Church hosts Blue Christmas, Labyrinth Walk Christ Episcopal Church will conduct a Blue Christmas service on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. The service will be held in the sanctuary of the church located at 105 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. The service will be led by a brass ensemble. This service is designed for people who have suffered a loss of a loved one, are experiencing family conflicts, or have had negative holiday experiences. All are invited. On Sunday, Dec. 16, members of the community are invited to walk the canvas labyrinth in the Guilds Room from 4 to 6 p.m. Join in this ancient spiritual practice of reflection. Walking the labyrinth can take as little as 20 minutes, but participants are invited to stay and pray for the full two hours. For more information, call (201) 652-2350 or visit www. christchurchridgewood.org. ‘Fall Night’ rescheduled for January West Bergen Mental Healthcare is pleased to announce that the Fall Night of Fine Dining, postponed due to Hurricane Sandy, has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 14 at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. The event, which highlights the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, is a fundraiser to benefit West Bergen’s programs and services. This year, West Bergen is honoring Chuck Russo of Carlo Russo’s Wine & Spirit World in Ho-Ho-Kus for his many years of generous support to West Bergen. To help celebrate Russo as honoree, there will be an additional selection of special wines to taste. Music for the evening will be provided by Modern Jazz Trio, which will perform classic standards and Broadway favorites by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and others.

The Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus will presents its annual Holiday Concert Dec. 15 and 16. The concert on Dec. 15 will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Dec. 16 performance will begin at 4 p.m. Classics, seasonal tunes, Broadway melodies, and male chorus favorites are on the program which features mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, who has sung in concert halls and performed on opera stages around the world. She has appeared in leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City and in opera companies around the United States and in Europe. The Orpheus Club will accompany Graves in singing ‘Habanera’ from ‘Carmen,’ by Georges Bizet. Tickets are $12 in advance and $20 at the door and are available at Daily Treat restaurant, Wine Seller, and Town and Country Apothecary in Ridgewood; Lewis Drug in Westwood; Perry’s Florist and Rock Ridge Pharmacy in Glen Rock; Wine and Spirit World in Ho-Ho-Kus; Benny’s Luncheonette in Fair Lawn; and Soloist Music in Leonia. Tickets for students and seniors are $15.

Art Show to benefit BVMI The Friends of the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative, Inc. will sponsor an Art Sale to benefit BVMI. The sale will be held Jan. 24 through 27 at the Piermont Fine Arts Gallery in Piermont, New York,
The show will feature the art of the Piermont Fine Arts Gallery’s 24-member artists’ cooperative, representing a variety of media and styles. Thirty-five percent of the proceeds from the sale will benefit Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative. A range of prices on artwork will be available, with prices beginning under $100. Admission for two to the cocktail reception on Saturday, Jan. 26 is $25. The reception will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. (continued on page 26)
