Resident’s Bake Sale will aid students in Panama
by John Koster Ridgewood’s Samantha Nadel, soon to be a student at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, will be conducting a Bake Sale on Aug. 24 and 25 to raise funds for a school in Panama. “The funds collected will be donated to a small indigenous village school at Bahia Honda in Panama,” Nadel explained. “My goal is to help them to build the library and buy books. “I visited this school twice in the past two years. They were very poor. Some of them didn’t even have any shoes. The classrooms were very small, and there were children of all different ages in the same classroom. “In March of this year, I went with my family the second time and brought a lot of sneakers to the children in need. This fundraiser was a success.” Samantha said the Bake Sale would be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at her house at
