The club hosts monthly luncheons/socials, sponsors Meals on Wheels, raises money for local charities, hosts an Annual House Tour and Children’s Theater and sponsors Social Service families’ holiday wish lists and much more. Register for Evening Bible Study Registration is now open for the 2012-13 North Jersey Evening Community Bible Study, beginning Sept. 11. An Introductory Coffee will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 495 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. The 30-week study is open to men and women from all backgrounds and meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the church. This year, the group will study the book of Revelation. The four-part format includes commentary, home study questions, men’s and women’s core group discussions of the home study questions, and a weekly lecture by a teaching director. This format offers an opportunity for beginners to study the Bible. There is a $25 registration fee, and a $2 weekly donation is requested to offset the cost of the study materials. Computer class offered to seniors The Computer Learning Center at the Northwest Bergen Senior Center in Midland Park is offering a course on Microsoft Word I. The class, which meets on eight Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m beginning Sept. 11, covers basic word processing using Word 2007. Students should have a basic knowledge of the computer, mouse, and keyboard, and should have mastered skills in highlighting, copying, and pasting. Typing skills are not required, but make learning word processing easier. Participants will learn how to create a document, name it, save it, and print it. Students will learn about fonts, page A smile goes a long way layout, margins, toolbars, page view, alphabetizing, numbering, bullets, spell check, grammar check, and letter layout. In addition to this class, the center offers courses on the Internet, e-mail, selecting and moving text, and Microsoft Word 7. Interested seniors areinvited to call the center for a schedule. The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center is located at 46-50 Center Street in Midland Park, and is open to all Bergen County area senior citizens age 60+.
