Drivers heading east on Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood towards downtown Ridgewood may have noticed the spruced up condition of the hillside to their left right before the railroad trestle. The area, adjacent to the Pease Library, was recently cleaned up courtesy of the Ridgewood Library Foundation and its trustees, who personally donated the funds to get the job done. The catalyst, however, was Ridgewood Philanthropist David Bolger, who had restored the library building to its former glory a number of years ago. “He brought it to our attention how unkempt the hillside was, and in typical David fashion, he wanted it fixed and he got it done,” quipped Ridgewood Public Library Board President John Saraceno. “It was important to him, so it (continued on page 12)
