The Ridgewood Art Institute will present its 60th Annual Sponsor Show April 15 through May 3. This year’s offerings include an authentic oil painting by Arthur Maynard, the artist considered the “father” of the Ridgewood Art Institute. The donated original works of art also include oil paintings by John P. Osborne, Lorraine Minetto, Robert Waltsak, Kate Hall, Carl Holst of Midland Park, Laura Paray of HoHo-Kus, and Charlotte Sullivan; an oil painting on copper by Janet Cunniffe-Chieffo; watercolors by Arthur Gilmore and Charles Brandenburg; and custom portrait commissions by Joe Hing Lowe and Basil Baylin.

As a special feature in celebration of the institute’s 60th Anniversary, an authenticated Frank V. DuMond oil painting will be offered separately for discounted sale. As the most influential teacher of Arthur Maynard, DuMond and his oil painting highlight the long history of art taught and practiced at the institute. The first 120 sponsors who donate $275 to the institute are guaranteed to take home one of the original works of art. The institute will host a Sponsors’ Reception on Sunday, April 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. where the paint-
ings will be selected. Proceeds from the sponsorships benefit the institute’s efforts promote fine arts in the community. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. All the paintings will be on display including the DuMond piece.
