In her early career, she was a typist at Sears Roebuck in New York. After raising her family, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Paulist Press Book Company. She is survived by her children Jim of Stockton, Joyce Breach of Wantage, Cindy McKee of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kate Weller of Ringwood, and five grandchildren. Irene Hunt, nee Parnell, of Franklin Lakes died Aug. 24. She was 73. Born in New Ferry, England, she came to the United States in 1978 and settled with her family in Merrillville, Indiana. In 1984, she moved to Franklin Lakes. She was a member of a local British coffee group. She is survived by her husband Leslie, her sons Christopher of Papamoa, New Zealand, Steven of Southington, Connecticut, and Andrew of Midland Park, four grandchildren, and her siblings Lilah Parnell, Agnes Foy, and Paul Parnell, all of England. Oliver Parker Jr. of Tuxedo Park, New York died Aug. 24. He was 74. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve. Born and raised in Upper Saddle River, he attended the Little Green Schoolhouse and graduated from Ramsey High School and Dickinson College. He was a carpenter and home builder, and he built many homes in northwest Bergen County. He was a director of Mahwah Savings and Loan, and an incorporator of Independence Bank. He was a Village of Tuxedo Park Trustee and Tuxedo Club member. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (nee Collins); his sons Richard, Douglas, and David Parker; his stepchildren Jeannie Dwyer, Nancy O’Neill, and Maureen Amico; 13 grandchildren; and his sisters Suzanne, Judith, and Cornelia Parker. Louise Anne Schwartz of Wyckoff died Aug. 26. She was 82. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from City College of New York and her master’s degree in psychology from City University of New York. She was chief psychologist and clinical director at Hackensack Medical Henrietta Apffel Center from 1968 to 1976. She later opened her own private practice in Saddle Brook as a licensed psychologist. She was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes. She is survived by her children Edward T. Steinbauer of East Hampstead, New Hampshire, Linda S. Giuseppe Tarulli of Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Valdez, Colorado, Brooklyn, New York, Irvington, New York, and Wyckoff, died Aug. 24. He was 85. Born in Cansano, Italy, he was a steam engine driver in Italy, a coal miner at Fredrick Mine in Valdez, Colorado, a worker for L.A. Piccirillo Inc. in Newark, and a custodian in Brookside School in Allendale. He is survived by his wife Vilma Tarulli, his children Ersilia Vogt, Anna Maria Kralik, and Rocco Tarulli, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Tennis of Brick, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died Aug. 28. She was 64. She is survived by her husband Thomas Tennis, her sons Todd P. Tennis and Troy P. Tennis, one granddaughter, her mother Gloria Carbone, and her siblings John Carbone and Randee Cole. She was predeceased by her father John Carbone. Arrangements were made by Weatherhead Young Funeral Home in Brick. Charles Edwin Wolthoff of Wyckoff, formerly of Englewood, died Aug. 27. He was 88. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He owned and operated several electronics businesses in Englewood, He was a patented inventor, and was voted Popular Mechanics Inventor of the Year for his plug in device EZ Neon. He had his single- and twinengine pilot’s licenses. He is survived by his wife Dolores J. Wolthoff (nee Gauff), his brothers and sisters-in-law Mary Anne and George Boser and Richard and Mary Ann Gauff, and many nieces and nephews. Franklin Lakes Scribe Teen advisors sought The Advisory Council for the Community by Teens and for Teens will meet in the Franklin Lakes Library’s local history room on Thursday, Sept. 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. Franklin Lakes students in grades six through 12 who want to promote teen services in the library and organize community service programs locally or globally are invited. Franklin Lakes high school students are invited to become Homework Helpers. The program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. in the children’s department. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Board of education to meet The Franklin Lakes Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The 8 p.m. meeting will be held in the music room at Franklin Lakes Middle School located at 755 Franklin Avenue. Republican Club to meet The Franklin Lakes Republican Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 10 at 7:45 p.m. at the Bender Court Ambulance Corps Building on Bender Court. The club will review strategies and member suggestions for the upcoming elections in November. Members of the Nominating Committee for the club’s officers and trustees for 2013 will be selected at this meeting. The Franklin Lakes Republican Club is a non-profit organization established to represent the Republican Party in Franklin Lakes. It is devoted to the cause of community improvement and good government through an organized Republican Party and the support of candidates for public office who will best represent the interests of the residents and taxpayers of Franklin Lakes. ESL classes forming Registration for the English as a Second Language program, Talk Time English Conversation, is now under way at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. The class will meet on Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sessions will be held from Sept. 13 through Nov. 15. The eight-week class is open to all levels of English learning and conversation.
