and have never seen the community as divided or directionless about K-8 education as it is today. Over the past three years, it seems that our district has had one problem after another. As an example, we had two highly qualified and well-respected principals leave our schools. We need stable, qualified leaders who will make wise financial and education decisions. We need board candidates who can unite our community, not divide it. Thus we need change at the board and I am confident that Michael Ben-David, Shirley Hermansen-O’Reilly, and Evros Vassiliou will be outstanding trustees if elected. Paul Schoffelen Franklin Lakes

Voting for Rooney-Jepsen team
Dear Editor: I am writing to show my support and encourage the Wyckoff residents to support the efficient and committed efforts of Kevin Rooney and Haakon Jepsen on Nov. 6 for township committee. I have come to know Kevin very well over the years and can truly say he has exceptional moral values, family values, and a dedicated work ethic. Kevin is devoted to everything he does and has a logical thought process when doing so. Over the last three years, he has put all his effort into making Wyckoff run better and more cost effectively for the residents. Kevin is always there to volunteer his time for the community before doing something for himself. Last year, while he was mayor, two big storms hit. Kevin was out in the middle of the storms doing whatever he could day in and day out, before doing anything at his own house. Kevin and Haakon are both committed to keep Wyckoff the town that we all love and live in. I am proud of Wyckoff and believe Kevin and Haakon have the leadership and out of the box thinking to keep Wyckoff moving forward in the right direction for the residents. When casting your vote on Nov. 6 please vote for Kevin Rooney and Haakon Jepsen. Cathy O’ Mealia Wyckoff Dear Editor: We are writing in support of Eileen Avia for the Wyckoff Township Committee. We have lived in Wyckoff for 36 years, raised three children here, and love this wonderful town. During these many years, we have known Eileen to be a caring mother, a compassionate and caring educator, and a dedicated, tireless volunteer for many causes that help improve the quality of life in Wyckoff. She will bring her energy, fair-minded approach and love for this town to her service on the township committee. Eileen Avia will serve us well. Her guiding principle in the decision-making process will always be to do what is best to maintain and improve the services and character of her beloved Wyckoff. Her spirit and energy will be great additions to the Wyckoff Township Committee. We enthusiastically support Eileen Avia and encourage you to give her your vote on Election Day.
