O’Neill of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of Glen Rock, died Oct. 8. He was 53. He was a senior optic technician of Jenoptik. He is survived by his mother Mary Catherine O’Neill, his siblings Mark, Mary Ellen, and Daniel, his brother-in-law Duncan, sister-in-law Dolores, four nieces, and a nephew. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Marion Emily Raff, nee Blocher, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, Haworth, and Franklin Lakes, died Aug. 22. She was 88. She attended Indiana University, and graduated from Syracuse University. She later took interior design courses at Parsons School of Design. She served on the Haworth Public School Board of Education and was past president of Wyckoff Family YMCA. She served as a volunteer in many capacities. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority and Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff. She is survived by her sons Douglas, Donald, and Kenneth, and six grandchildren. George Reall of Castle Rock, Colorado, formerly of Sedona, Arizona and Franklin Lakes, died Sept. 23. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of both the Utah and New York State Bar associations, and a graduate of Harvard Law School and Tufts College. He spent most of his career with the National Council on Compensation Insurance. He came to NCCI from the Utah State Workman’s Compensation Fund, where he was assistant manager. In 1980, he retired from NCCI with 28 years of service, including 23 years as the head of the company. He is survived by his wife Eula, his son Gus, his daughter-inlaw Dawn, and two grandchildren. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and participated in many of its programs. She organized and was the first director of a church preschool program. She was a Alithea M. Jennings member of Wyckoff Seniors, and volunteered with Partners in Pride and the Valley Hospital. She is survived by her husband Jack, her sons John Jr., Robert, and Richard, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. He graduated from Fordham Prep in 1952 and from Fordham College with a bachelor’s degree in 1956. Before retiring in 1996, he was vice president and CFO of Compac Corp. in Netcong. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood. He was a member of the Hobbyist Club and past president of the Ridgewood Baseball Association. He is survived by his wife Patricia (nee Cameron) Sinton of Ridgewood, his children William Sinton of Orlando, Florida, Donald Sinton of Rochester, New York, Robert Sinton of Waldwick, and Debra Cagney of Kingwood, Texas, and seven grandchildren. She was a sales clerk for over 40 years, working for Sears in Hackensack for 15 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood and a member of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. She is survived by her children Eileen Stoveken and David Soel, and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Albert L. Soel, and her brother Elmer Dance. Arrangements were made by Aloia Funeral Home in Garfield. Vivian Blevins Wastrom of Brewster, Massachusetts, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died Oct. 4. She was 90. She was a graduate of Northwestern University. She had a career in real estate. She was a member the Million Dollar Sales Club/NJ Association of Realtors, and a member of the association’s President’s Club. She was honored by the Medallion Club/Better Homes and Garden Real Estate, earned the “Top Salesperson of the Year Award” in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and was a multiple-time recipient of the Salesperson of the Month Award for her office. She was a parishioner of the Old Stone Church in Upper Saddle River and a member of the Woman’s Club. She is survived by her sons Robert Dale Jr., John Blevins, and Richard Paul, five grandchildren, and her sister Marjorie Bagg of Dallas, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Dale Wastrom. Park Windmill Blood Drive announced The community is invited to participate in the Midland Park Community Blood/Platelets Drive on Monday, Oct. 22. The drive will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Faith Reformed Church, 95 Prospect Street in Midland Park. To schedule an appointment, call Community Blood Services at (201) 251-3703. All types of blood are needed especially types O- and O+. Any healthy individual age 17 through 75 and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Donors should eat a moderate meal before donating and must bring identification showing signature. All donors receive a complimentary cholesterol screening with every blood donation. Drug Free NJ presents program The Midland Park Alliance and Elementary PTA invites parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children of any age to attend “The 15-Minute Child Break.” This program by the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 in the Highland School library, 31 Highland Avenue. This free one-hour interactive program includes tips for talking to kids about drugs and alcohol, the influence of media and pop culture, the effects of specific drugs, how to strengthen parenting skills, and how to make the most of “teachable moments.” For more information, contact Jayneburke@gmail.com.
