Community enjoyed Retreat’s 47th Annual Country Fair
The Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat’s 47th Annual Country Fair was held Sept. 29 at the Wyckoff Municipal Field. Those who attended had the opportunity to enjoy rides, food, crafts, vendors, pumpkin painting, scarecrow-making, pony rides, games, and entertainment. DJ Bob Kern provided music and special activities for the children. The Ultimate Bake Off was held for the first time this year. Proceeds from the fair benefit the residents of the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, a non-profit organization that provides residential services and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. ECCR serves people from all over New Jersey and has facilities in Wyckoff, Hawthorne, North Haledon, and Midland Park.

It’s centered on a mulched flowerbed with a circumference of 9 ft. 11 in., which in turn is surrounded by a paver walkway. Berninger said he hopes residents will use the park for quiet reflection at any time. Barrier-free access is provided from the Greenwood Avenue parking lot. Any resident wishing to help underwrite the cost of the project may still contribute. Send tax-deductible donations to MPFD 911 Fund, 45 Witte Drive, Midland Park 07432.
