She was employed as an executive secretary for the Paterson Rotary for 23 years. Before retiring, she was a personnel consultant for Walker Personnel in Ridgewood. She was an active member of the Second Reformed Church in Wyckoff (now the Abundant Life Reformed Church), where she was a member of the Dawn Patrol Bible Study and the Priscilla Circle. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Eastern Christian Retreat and volunteered at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. She is survived by her children Dennis Barnes of Wyckoff and Linda L. Stewart of Yorktown, Virginia, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her sister Dorothy Secor of Cotuit, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband John R. Barnes. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. John Gregory of Wyckoff died Sept. 22. He was 79. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an engineer engaged in research and sales. Before retiring, he was an IT salesperson with AT&T. After retiring, he worked in the building department for the Borough of Allendale. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his sons Stephen, John C., and Glenn, and two grandsons. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. Ruth L. Goldring of Franklin Lakes died Sept. 21. She was 85. She is survived by her husband Stanley Goldring. Bernhard Christian Frederick Klein of Midland Park died Sept. 25. He was 85. He was born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. He began working in the machine shop at Marlow Pumps in Midland Park in 1954. He retired in 1990 as the accountant of purchasing. After retiring, he worked at Aviation International News in Midland Park. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Midland Park for over 50 years. He is survived by his children John Klein of Eaton, New York, Joan Dobutovich of Oak Ridge, and Eric Klein of Midland Park, and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jane (nee Minkema). Mae Moezelaar of Wyckoff died Sept. 26. She was 92. Before retiring, she was a legal secretary with at De Yoe, De Yoe, and Guiney in Paterson. She was a member of Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prospect Park. She was an organist for 60 years, and served as the accompanist for the Apollo Glee Club, Back to God Hour, and Eastern Academy Choir. She was a member of Eastern Christian High School Ladies’ Circle, the North Fourth Street School Ladies’ Aid, and a volunteer at the Christian Health Care Center. She is survived by her daughters Dorothy Faasse of North Haledon, Trena Swart of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Janice Van Grouw of Midland Park, 14 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Evelyn Huizing and Dr. Peter Pousma De Boer, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and her sister-in-law Lillian De Boer of North Haledon. Nancy Jean Roughgarden of Wyckoff, formerly of Palm Springs, California, North Haledon, and Hawthorne, died Sept. 21. She was 76. She was employed as the outpatient supervisor and physical therapist for Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs, California for five years. Previously, she was employed with the Kessler Institute in Orange. She is survived by her sister Betsy Patterson and her brother-in law Edgar of North Haledon, her nieces and nephews Scott Patterson of Greenville, New York, Dr. Todd Patterson of Walnutport, Pennsylvania, Dr. Tara Patterson of The Woodlands, Texas, Andrew Roughgarden of Waldwick, Tracy Roughgarden of Hawthorne, and Leslie Blanchard of Waldwick, and seven great-nieces and nephews. He was 73. He graduated from Hackensack High School in 1959 and attended New York University. He entered the emerging field of computer technology and worked in high-tech for the majority of his career. He retired from Electronic Data Systems in 1996. He is survived by his brother Paul J. and sister-in-law Christine Schulze of Ramsey, and his sister-in-law Ruth Schulze of Naples, Florida, and two generations of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys Emily Kielt, his parents Frederick L. and Catherine T. Schulze, and his brothers Frederick V. Schulze, Albert D. Schulze, and James T. Schulze. By being aware that you might possibly be a victim, you can prevent yourself from being a victim.” On Sept. 22 at 8:40 a.m., the Wyckoff police received a call about a genuine DWI. Sergeant Jack McEwan located the car on Cedar Hill Avenue near Calvin Court. The car was billowing smoke from the rear as it was being driven on a blown tire. The driver, a 37-year-old man from Prospect Park, was stopped while attempting to enter Route 208. He was charged with DWI and with leaving the scene of an accident in Waldwick after Waldwick police officers arrived and matched car parts picked up at the scene of a Waldwick hit-and-run. The man was also charged with driving with an open container in the vehicle, operating an unsafe vehicle, and driving an uninsured vehicle.
