Margaret “Marge” De Nooy of North Haledon, formerly of Midland Park, died Nov. 8. She was 93. She was a buyer and manager for the shoe department at Meyer Brothers until 1979. She retired from Shoes ‘N Things in Fair Lawn in 1992. She was a member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Tryphosa, the Eunice Society, and the Ruth Circle. She is survived by her sister Kathryn Arnold of Portage, Michigan, her step-sister Pauline Van Beekum of North Haledon, her sister-in-law Wanda De Nooy of Denver, Colorado, many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Jennie De Nooy, her siblings Garret De Nooy, Jack De Nooy, Jean Boonstra, Carrie Schaaf, and her twin sister Henrietta Brandes. Arrangements were made by the Olthuis Funeral Home in Midland Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Holland Christian Home in North Haledon. Susan Grale, nee Kostecky, of Wyckoff, formerly of Clifton and Wayne, died Nov. 11. She was 93. She employed by Becton Dickinson in Rutherford, and was later the receptionist at the Hoffman La Roche Corporation in Nutley, where she worked for 24 years before retiring. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Ingrassia of Wayne, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter T. Grale, and her five sisters. Edwin P. Harned Jr. of Monroe Township and Pinellas Park, Florida, formerly of Wyckoff, died Oct. 10. He was 82. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Ursinus College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Before retiring in 1987, he was an executive with IBM for 32 years. He was a member of the Montclair Ski Club and the Hopewell Golf Club. He was a volunteer fireman in Wyckoff. He is survived by his ex-wife Louise McCutcheon, his daughter Nancy Warner of Goshen, New York, his stepchildren Dr. Maria Georgsson of Flemington, Eva Georgsson of New York City, and Sverrir Georgsson of Newark, Delaware, three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, his companion Ann Nuzzo, and his sister Carolyn Landi of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. John Kuiken of Franklin Lakes died Nov. 14. He was 70. He was the owner and operator of Kuiken’s Dairy in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Donna Sorge of Hawthorne, John Kuiken of Millburn, Karen Sinke of West Milford, and Diane Kuiken of Franklin Lakes, and 11 grandchildren. can Bar Association, and was admitted to the New Jersey, New York, and Florida bar associations. He is survived by his fiancée Jacquelyn Terrizzi and his sons Eric, Adam, and Kevin. He is also survived by his sisters Janet Abbas and Karen Ferarra, and his step-daughter Annette Terrizzi. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. He served in World War II in Italy. He is survived by his children Josephine Verteramo of Cliffside Park, Vincenza Ashabi of Upper Saddle River, and Vincenzo Pascarella of Rochelle Park, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received his MA from Middlebury College and returned to France to teach English at Lycee Henri Quatre in Paris. Before retiring in 1986, he spent 38 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as an insurance investigator, claims manager, and later in New York business sales. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, where he sang with the church choir and with the Cavaliers of Harmony, a barbershop chorus. He was the leader of a barbershop quartet, The Pierce Arrows. He is survived by his wife Elaine (nee: Torbert) Pierce, his sons Edward of Wellesley, Massachusetts, William of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, John of Ridgewood, and Robert of Newton, Massachusetts, his stepchildren Thomas Oakley of Coventry, Connecticut, Bruce Oakley of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, Carol Stanhope of West Milford, eight grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne (nee Mase). Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Lillian (nee Gismondi), his daughter Theresa Baldassari, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his siblings Lucille Barone, Rocco Venezia, Aida Venezia, Peter Venezia, Frank Venezia, and Marie Kelm.
