Caroline Czopek of Wyckoff, formerly of Wallington, died May 24. She was 92. She had worked as a seamstress. She is survived by her children Halina Barylski of Franklin Lakes, Zofia Kozak of Wyckoff, and William Czopek of Wallington, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her brother Jozef Wojdyla of Passaic. She was predeceased by her husband Michal Czopek, her daughter Kazimiera Ziolo, and four sisters and one brother. Arrangements were made by Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service in Wallington. Memorial donations may be made to the restoration of the Chapel in Sielec – Poland, or a charity of choice. David C. Hutsebaut of Midland Park died May 17. He was 80. Before retiring in 1984, he was a service technician for PSE&G. He was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church, where he served as an usher and a member of the senior adult ministry. He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Van Broekhoven), his children Kathy Prochaska of Liverpool, New York, David Hutsebaut of Oakland, and Sharon Lewitt of Glen Rock, four grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Knorr of Tucson, Arizona. Maureen Ann Kmetz, nee Hinchy, of Midland Park, died May 23. She was 70. Before retiring in 2009, she worked as a social worker for the State of New Jersey for 44 years, including the Adoption Resource Center in Paterson. She is survived by her brother Frank T. Hinchy, her nieces and nephews Deborah, Barbara, Robert, Carolyn, and Karen, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Midland Park where she was a member of the Ruth Circle, the Mother’s Club, and had served as a deaconess. She is survived by her husband John D., and many nieces and nephews including Chuck and Wanda Jurgensen and their three children, and her friends Dave and Betty Sullivan and their eight children. She was predeceased her siblings Bertha, Berdina, Trina, Jennie, Henrietta, John, William, Gary and Samuel. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Sarene Osenga, nee Miller, of North Haledon, formerly of Midland Park, died May 22. She was 100. She was a lifelong member of Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, serving as church secretary for 25 years, and a member of the Ruth Circle, the Hallelujah Choral Ensemble, and the Senior Crusaders. At the Holland Home, she was a member of the choir and took part in the “Warm up America” program. She is survived by her son Raymond J. Osenga, grandson Ryan J. Osenga and his wife Brittney, and her daughter-in-law Ann Osenga, all of New Mexico. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie De Jong, nieces Deb Steyling and Dyan Fischer, and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John, her sister Kathryn Houseward, and brothers Elmer, Robert, George, and Wilbur Miller. Arrangements were made by the Olthuis Funeral Home in Midland Park. Mary Ringley, nee Faul, of Wyckoff, formerly of Waldwick and Fair Lawn, died May 18. She was 82. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth’s R.C. Church in Wyckoff and was a member of its seniors club. She was a member of the Wyckoff Seniors, the Red Hat Society, and the YMCA of Wyckoff. She is survived by her children Richard Ringley and Mary Alice Dixon of Charlotte, North Carolina, Robert and Linda Ringley of Wyckoff, and Steven and Diane Ringley of Wanaque, four grandchildren, and her sisters Terry Crowe, and Rita Johnson. Sytzko, nee Seitz of Mahwah, formerly of Carlstadt and Fair Lawn, died May 16. She was 97. She is survived by her husband Victor W. Sytzko, and her son Victor A. Sytzko of Fair Lawn. Arrangements were made by Kamienski Funeral Home in Garfield. V. Michael Talbot of Saddle River died May 20. He was 88. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and Lafayette College with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a project engineer/ manager and later vice president of Beach Electric Company, Inc. until 1995. After retiring, he worked as a consultant for PSE&G. He was a member of IBEW Union 52, Arcola Country Club and Brookside Racquet Club. He was survived by his wife June (nee Draesel) of Saddle River, his children Barbara Batten, Daniel Talbot, and Nancy Muldowney, and five grandchildren. Arrangements were made by C.C. Police to address Chamber The Franklin Lakes Police will offer a discussion on crime at the May 30 meeting of the Franklin Lakes Chamber of Commerce. The group will meet at 8 a.m. at Franklin Lakes Borough Hall at 480 DeKorte Drive. Friends offer free concerts The Friends of the Franklin Lakes Library will sponsor two June performances. The Sunday afternoon concerts begin at 2 p.m. and are held at the library located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Admission is free and seating is on a first come basis. On June 3, hear acclaimed international concert violinist David Podles as he commemorates the extraordinary classical composers from centuries past. Podles will perform classical pieces that have highlighted his career in a presentation entitled “Celebration of the Violin Soul.” On June 10, the Genesis Ensemble will perform “Folk Music around the World.” The performance, directed by Beth Prins of NJHSA, will feature authentic world costumes and instruments. Woyce to discuss Jersey Shore Author and photographer Kevin Woyce will present a “History of the Jersey Shore” at the Franklin Lakes Public Library on Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. Woyce will discuss the history of the Jersey Shore from the distant past of pirates and shipwrecks through the Golden Years. Learn how shore towns got their unusual names, why there is an elephantshaped building in Margate, and more. Woyce, a life-long resident of the Garden State, has been taking photographs at the shore for more than a dozen years. Admission is free. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Computer classes offered The Franklin Lakes Public Library will offer computer classes for beginners on June 6, 8, 13, and 15 from 11 a.m. to noon. Classes will provide the basics on how to use a personal computer. No experience is necessary. Registration is under way. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Republican Club to meet The Franklin Lakes Republican Club will meet on Monday, June 4 at 7:45 p.m. at the Ambulance Corps Building on Bender Court. The group will review strategies for the club’s Get Out the Vote campaign and fall program plans. This will be the organization’s last meeting until the fall.
