The Wyckoff Township Committee honored the leaders of the Wyckoff Torpedoes Soccer Club who planned and constructed a soccer field at the club’s own expense. Torpedoes leaders who were on hand to accept the framed proclamation included The Honorable Michael Chagares, a federal circuit court judge; James Finn; Roy Jones; and Robert Landel, who is Wyckoff’s township attorney. Wyckoff Mayor Christopher DePhillips read the proclamation, which describes how the Wyckoff Torpedoes Soccer Club,

a group founded in 1974, had donated the use of the field to all residents of Wyckoff as needed after having raised the money for the design and construction through private donations. The soccer field is located on Memorial Field behind town hall and adjacent to the roller hockey rink and basketball courts. The township committee further noted that Wyckoff has again scored top honors from the New Jersey Joint Insurance Fund, earning a Gold Award for Excellent Safety (continued on page 25)
Board appoints three teachers
The Wyckoff Board of Education has appointed three teachers to the K-8 school system and authorized a stipend for a certified speech therapist. Christin Racioppi has been appointed a leave replacement special education teacher
at the Sicomac School at a salary of $48,656 pro-rated. She holds a BA and enters at Step 1 of the salary guide. Her appointment will run through June 30. Mary Butters has been appointed a leave (continued on page 13)
