Dear Readers: I am pleased to announce that, since my last letter, several new retail establishments have opened, or are gearing up to open, in the great Township of Wyckoff, including ShopRite, Aldo’s (which is moving into the former Wyckoff Bakery building), Aoyama Oriental Restaurant, See You Saturday, European Wax, Sports Clips, and Waldwick Meats. Several professionals have also opened their doors in Wyckoff over the past few months. With the constant changing of the retail and professional landscape, the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce is going through a natural growth period as well. We will certainly be adding a plethora of new businesses and new events in the upcoming months. Please refer to our website, wyckoffchamber.com, often and use the convenient directory for as many of your shopping needs as possible. Use the Chamber directory as your Yellow Pages for shopping, professional services, and dining. It is so vital to an economically healthy community to keep as much commerce as possible here in town, both on the retail and professional levels. Shortly, you can expect to see discount coupons available exclusively on our website for an array of services in Wyckoff. Building a more meaningful connection between the Chamber and the residents of Wyckoff is one of our primary goals for 2012. In the coming months, we will be partnering with the township’s fire depart-
ment and ambulance corps, helping to raise awareness of the skillful and necessary jobs they do here in town. These organizations depend on donations and fundraising to improve and update their life-saving equipment. They rely exclusively on unpaid volunteers to keep their services going. Fire Chief Michael Rose will be speaking at one of our morning meetings in the near future. The public is encouraged to attend. Check this newspaper and our website for details. During Wyckoff Day on Saturday, June 9, we will hold the first Chili Cook-off. It is sure to be an exciting event, and residents are encouraged to participate. All proceeds will be presented to Wyckoff’s fire and ambulance organizations. With the coming of spring, we are sure to see people outside with their neighbors, exercising, shopping, and watching the youth sports games all over town. Please try to patronize the local businesses that help make Wyckoff the amazing town it is. These are indeed the people who help pay for the ball fields and parks and donate to the local schools and non-profits here in town. The Wyckoff Chamber is made up of over 100 business people and is completely non-profit. Our mission is to promote Wyckoff both for business, and help make it a truly special place to call home. Feel free to contact us at wyckoffchamber.com with any ideas you might have. Jay Vidockler, President Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce
